Yeah, in my mind right now the only two cars that are interesting, cost effective (for the level of performance, driving fun) are the S2K and C6 Vert. I *love* my Vettes, but this would be a 180 degree change up from the Z06 (which is kind of what I'm looking for). Plus I'm still a sucker for Japanese aftermarket styling

I say you just go C6 vert, can't really see a reason to go S2k. Boxster doesn't even seem like an option, I mean, they may be decent cars, but they're basically bottom of the line Porsche and have very mediocre styling, while the S2k and Vert are more model cars for the respective companys and have nice aggressive styling and obviously the C6 is beastly.

The Boxster is just so, meh? 911 vert would be WWWAAYYYY sicker.

That depends on your the presence of self image issues within you and whoever sees you.

p.s. chrith was joking cabo. also, 911 is too much monies.
there is a nice aftermarket for boxter parts. an expensive one though.

If I *do* want an S2K I found a nearly perfect car - the price is outstanding, it's an < 5k miles 2007 (meaning the larger motor, VSA and a few other aesthetic tweaks), it's silver with black/red two tone interior (kind of like I wanted in a C6). Owned by an older guy who's Father-in-Law owns a Honda dealership.

go with the s2k if you're planning on doing a lot to the engine and getting some nice wheels and a hard top, i bet you could have one of the sicker s2k's out there.

on a side note i saw a hardtop s2k today and it looks wayyyy better.

I seem to be alternating between domestics (well, Vettes) and imports (Japanese) so this would at least continue the trend. I think this ride is so cost effective that even if I only kept it for a couple of years the "rental" fee would be nominal. I'm also on a little bit of a Japanese kick again with the recent 4R purchase.

As I write this there are couple of new C6's posted though.

Nice ride, it looks like it was actually for sale in 2007, so I would figure it's gone. However, one thing I usually try to avoid is getting a car that's "known" - otherwise you always have so-and-so's car.

The 2nd Gens (2004+) have a few improvements (the biggest being the slightly bigger displacement F22 2.2L), and 2006+ have drive-by-wire throttle integrated with a VSA/VSC stability control setup.

Hahaha, that guy's tag is amazing!
