probably not, but that era WRX(not STI) has a tranny problem. both heard that on here, and my friend had one and it fracked up at the time, but it eventually just blew a cylinder lolzzzz

you can find an 04-06 sti for around 20k, and probably an 08 wrx for 20k. But wrx's are like 25k new..

I think diffusers look SO cool. Too bad its only a matter of time before people start putting them on civic dx's and ruin it.

All WRX's have glass-jaw transmissions (02-07 for sure, not sure if they changed in 08). The STI transmission is leaps and bounds from the WRX's. There are 2010 WRX sedans in my area for 25k, try close to 30 for a new on nowadays. Hobo is pretty much on the money though...

Why would you buy another Saab? The company is bankrupt and only the Chevy sold ones are having their warranties honours. Parts are going to be ridiculously expensive as a result.

Chrith, they sick with a lift, but you can wave bye-bye to decent gas mileage.

Trevor, they sound like F1 cars because they use ex-F1/Indy engines. Amazing.

I can't embed this video, but I've never seen a car outside of a drag car accelerate like this. It's a hillclimb with a V8, and a helicopter turbine dedicated to spinning the turbo at full boost. Watch the video. It's so fast it doesn't make sense....

cuz they arent too expensive and the older ones are fine. plus we have known our mechanic for like 25 years and he can get us anything. but yes they did go out of business. i like my saab cuz for the price its relatively fast, comfy, good looking, and is super safe. plus insurance isnt awful

And in all honesty, it would be smart to look for one that is bone stock. Better chance of the owner not driving it as hard. Like when I was looking for a car I was seeing all these WRX/STI ads saying something along the lines of "can handle 21psi of boost" I would just stop looking at it.

Just finished paying off my Xterra. I do a lot of driving so Im thinking about getting a smaller more fuel efficient car. Thinking about a Mini Cooper especially with the special they are having with the $249 lease with no down payment. What do?

    Shit that sucks Dan.

I've driven a Mini S, it's fun but feels really small, the interior is pretty wacky too. I'd test drive a GTI, they're really fun to drive and have great interior.

I priced GTIs recently, and they're close to $44,000! Down the road at the Subaru dealership, they had 2010 WRX STIs going for well under $30,000 with a couple thousand KMs. As much as I like GTIs, they are incredibly expensive for what they are. I know they're well built and all, but almost $50,000 for a hot hatch (or decently warm hatch to be accurate) is ridic.
