    Default Cigarettes?

    Whose hooked?

List what got you started, possible plans to quit (long term or short term), how many a day, and preferred brand.

    I'll go first:

    -18 years old
-Always dabbled since turning 18, didn't really start smoking till I broke up w/ my ex 3-4 months ago, smoked a lot that week and didn't ever really stop.
-Going with it for right now..trying to take it a lil lighter..no more full flavors, etc. (If it even makes a difference)
-Smoke anywhere from none (rare only when I'm home) to a little under a pack a day (<--routine). Shit's hella addicting and just becomes habit so quickly.
-Preferred brand: Started with Djarum cloves moved to smooths then got hooked, lately I've been going parliament lights (or ultralights) and Salem ultralights.

    So yeah, I've got a problem..anyone else?
    go on.

i've dabbled. Not sure why they're so god damn addicting. I was only really on them for a week or so and I still crave them hard. I'm scared because in 3 weeks i turn 18......

When I get shit faced I have been known to smoke. I have not smoked a "cig" sober since I first tried at the age of 13ish.

I do use chewing and dipping tobacco. It's a horrible habit just as smoking if not more addictive.

Started dabbling with dip around 16 or 17? Was a bad habit. Soon i was sick of it. Couldnt stand the smell. would get nauseous when a friend opened a can and i smelt it.

On i went to chew. heaven in a bag. tasted great and i loved it. I was on that for a couple months until i realized my teeth were turning brown.

Quit smokeless tobacco and on to sticks. My buddies (two i skim with) and I smoked Djarum. Started Black. Then Splash and Bali Hai. Then menthol. Damn we smoked the shit out of those things when drinkin. Sucked because they are expensive. I never was addicted hardcore but i had cravings.

Now i mess around with Marlboro lights. Still not addicted but when im headed to the beach or gettin shitty i smoke them. Its good i dont have a car here because i think if i did i would be headin to the corner store much more often. I guess i dont smoke enough to get addicted and i can "quit" anytime i want (good thing), but i do sit and crave them random times...in which i usually smoke one.

I have heard it debated either way. I think it's worse for you. More addictive and it's worth 4 cigs for one normal/average dip.

I started smoking off and on since I was 25. Mostly I smoke when I am under a lot of stress or really upset. I smoke Marlbro (sp) Lights.

Yeah I've heard the same debate with cigars. It doesn't really matter as long as people realize none of it is healthy

its like this burning draw, so hard to understand. Funny thing is, from being around so many people that smoke before i even tried it, i was already drawn to it before my first drag.

i smoked since about 16. maybe pack a month. didnt really start getting bad til about 6 months ago.(im 19) now im about a pack a day. tried a lot but i like to stick with the Marlboro lights. reds here and there but makes me feel like im kiling myself even faster. i HATE flavored cigs though. anything menthol cloves whatever. so gross. the best are morning cigarettes and cigs right after smoking weed.

PS cloves are made with fiberglass and if you smoke em too much you'll cough up blood, they are supposed to not be inhaled like cigars. also heard the same about newport menthols. (or so i heard)

Yeah I smoked a little just when I drank in high school. Now I smoke Marlboro Lights because they are cheaper than cloves. Anywhere from 1-3/4 per day. Not bad. Trying to keep it chill and under control though.

My favourite part about this thread is how everyone who said they "dabbled" but weren't addicted.

    It's called denial.

Here's another fun side effect from the chew...

If there is something hipster about unironically defending the validity of discussing Justin Bieber, then I clearly do not know what "hipster" means anymore.

Nobody ever believes me when I say I'm 23 and I've never even tried it once. I just never had the urge to even experiment. Both of my parents are heavy smokers and I was grossed out at an early age and it just stuck with me I guess. It seems like such an epidemic (contextual -- I don't mean to say that smoking is a disease, I just mean in terms of widespread usage) amongst people my age these days. So many people do it, it's unreal.

    Good for you.

I avoided really smoking til I was about 20 then I started telemarketing where they had free cigs and you were supposed to take 10 minute break every hour soooo I started up pretty decent. At my worst I was about 5 cigs a day but was known on weekends to blow an entire pack in one night of drinking. But I havent smoke a cig in over 2 years.
no its not a joke haha i was just freaking out cause she gave me dome before and i bust all in this towel, whiped my dick off then fingered her with that hand and i was just like omg omg omg omg, then we did the nasty, i still think i'm straight.

same for me, never had any urge to even try it.
even though my parents don't smoke at early age they were like "if you smoke or do drugs, you can just tell us, we don't want you to get in any financial trouble"
and i was like "mom, dad, what the frack!"

xsjado, is that you in the pic?

I watched a friend be so anti-smoking for his whole life, and now he smokes a ton. He always said that smoking is so disgusting and he would never do it.

I'm not going to do it. Such a waste of money. I have camera shit to buy.

well it started for me about 6 months ago when i'd be drunk as frack or fishing or before i'd skim. but i'd only smoke like 2 or 3 a day. now it has become a habit to smoke a cig after i smoke weed, surf, skim, drink, or fish which is like every day. and on the weekends ill smoke a pack in about 2 days. but ive been trying to ease up on it a little bit and its been working sumwut.

If anyone smokes you must watch this.

Honestly, I find it very hard to respect smokers. It's just such a sign of weakness and insecurity. Call me a snob, but there's no denial that smoking is awful for you. Most of that smoke you puff out is going into other people's lungs (if you are around people) and it's just plain disrespectful. I walk out of my dorm at college and there's always a cloud that I have to walk through.
