If you want to see a pretty cool little flick check out 24 Hour Party People. It's about the Manchester scene in England (kind of the punk-to-rave/psychodelic movement) featuring Joy Division and Happy Mondays (er, semi-fake version - it's sort of a fake-u-mentary).
killers have better vocals
Skim Central
Sickday Surf
Reckless Skim
Wilbs Shoes
even if that were true sean, can any of the killers do that little dance ian curtis does
joy division <3
new order too
The Manchester scene was ground zero for all good things post modern punk in the late 70's early 80's. I love that era in music.
There is a movie out based on Ian Curtis and Joy Division called "Control". I'm going to look for it this weekend. New Order is one of my favorite bands as well.
The Killers have 3 CD's full of the same shitty song with different lyrics and wish they were Interpol.Originally Posted by SeanS

i'm a fan of the killers now, though i used to hate them. I do like their albums a lot, and I like their version much much much better than Joy Divison. I have 3 joy division cd's because i've heard all these stories about how important and great they are, yet everytime i listen to them, they sound worse. I don't know what to say about them, except that i guess I respect them as musicians or something.
I respect Joy Division for being influential, just like I respect The Pixies for basically creating 90's rock and roll and Guided By Voices for creating today's music. That said, I wouldn't enjoy listening to an album of any of them from start to finish.Originally Posted by VictoriaScrub

I'm gonna have to check that out. Shaun Ryder of Happy Mondays is the back up vocalist in the song "Dare" by the Gorillaz (Song used in Chia's segment in Bearded).Originally Posted by DT
If you wanna see a totally messed up Shaun Ryder performing Dare live check this out. Ironically the Gorillaz Demon Days Live DVD where this song comes from was done in Manchester. The DVD is amazing. Highly recommended.

Haha the pixies, I always see one or two guys at concerts wearing pixies shirts with that "I know more about rock than you do smirk."Originally Posted by Dzan
Yeah, they tend to be mortal enemies of the guys wearing the Misfits tshirts who have the exact same smirk.Originally Posted by VictoriaScrub
