    Default Surgery Time!

    FINALLY (134 days after my injury) I'm getting surgery tomorrow morning. Gonna take a piece of tendon out of my leg and use it as a ligament in my ankle, drill a hole through a bone and attach the ligament with two screws. Also gonna take out the bone shards, tighten the other tendons I extended, and see what else is wrong in there.
    Only 5-6 more months of recovery time until I can skim again!
    ...I'm trying to stay positive.

    So if I'm on here over the next couple days sounding like I'm on drugs, I am. 2 painkillers stronger than vicodin, and I've never been on any pain killers at all before.

    What did you do? I've seriously fracked up my ankle and I really need to go get it looked at, but i keep putting it off. It makes really funny noises now and hurts like shit when something in my ankle gets out of place and I have to pop it back in...

    Broke a bone, pieces of the bone tore up ligaments, severed a different ligament from a different bone, tore tendons. And then proceeded to whine a lot.

    Yup, the photography's been what's keeping me sane. Gives me LOTS of more time to get more shots of people... without being tempted to go and have fun myself.

    Damn stronger than vicodin, I love vicodin ,when I'm in pain that is. It's the only thing that works for me, let me know what you are going to get that is stronger than vicodin. If you never had any pain killers before you will be out of it =) Good Luck!

    Yep, I work at a church helping teach the high schoolers. Everyone's being really chill with me there and letting me take time off (they understand how important it is that I get back in the water as soon as possible.)
    Gordon, that might be an excellent idea. Now could be the time to do SOMETHING to make me marginally attractive to the opposite sex...

    knee surgery is always gnarly. i watched a full knee replacement last tues and it was pretty sweet. they don't really take it easy when drilling and sawing but it doesnt sound like your having anything like that done. good luck

    Even with the oxy, lots of pain and I'm hallucinating a lot. Haven't been able to get down hardly a sip of water since tuesday without puking it back. This is no fun...
