    Question Zap Large Wedge

I skim at least once a week and im pretty good now i started when i was like 5. i run track so im pretty fast i was wondering why everyone always says the zaps are not their preference. Do boards liek vic ultravacs make it easier to ride waves? i ride some pretty big waves but this may just be cause im quick on my feet. my questions is do i need a new board. my board is in good shape i only got it last summer. If so what sould i get

Yeah man. Speed is pretty crucial. No matter how good any board is, you still need speed. But the better boards go faster. But if you're going way out there with a wedge, when you get a ultra vac, you'll be FLYING!..lol.. IMO!
    ultra vac for now...

if what you have is working, don't change it.

I agree with Jesse. Just wait it out. I have a Zap Chizel(just like the Pro Large), it works for me pretty good and it was only like 230. if your board works good then keep it 'til it breaks. or until you have almost half a grand to throw into a board.

yeah but an ultra really isn't worth getting a new board if you already have a large wedge.

yeh if you are able to ride waves fine and you feel the board isnt holding you back (you being to heavy for it), then keep it for a bit. We dont know your skill level so how you ride waves could be the board or you. A better board is gunna help, but you need to know how to ride it too.

o, and ive never heard someone say "i dont prefer ZAP." A lot of people actually like zap for their quality. They last forever. my carbon zap floated me like a champ and lasted since 01 or 02. she rode some rails and met her demise 2 months later on a big day.

I think your confusing the conception of "dont get a wedge of vic foamie" that people say. Some people say that because if you know youre gunna progress youre gunna want a better board within a month or two, save the 100-200 and spend 300-500.

in other news, im about to drop $500+ on pads and a new exile carbon. JOY!

    aw sick.
My zap is light blue. I was supposed to get a blue pad, but I got a gray one free. 3/4, thats what I wanna get.

    In short, I'm jealous.

    so lemme get this straight

first off, youve been skimming since you were 5

    second, you ride big waves

and third, youre asking us what board you should buy?

does anyone else think thats a little odd?

yes i skim ibsp (best spot in nj) when its bigger than 3.5 feet not by any means big but i meat ive seen soem like 6ish to 7 when hurricanes come through. But i mean ive seen those maui skimmers and they look like they will take u a mile out cause there so big espically since im used to a large wedge. I'm gonna get a new board by christmas casue i want one and my parrents said i could i jsut know nothing about them. if i dotn get one of them ill get an exile, vic or slotstik
