How NOT to Drop In.
Mt. Trashmore Halfpipe is around 13 feet tall. 2 foot of all vert, not many people drop in on the halfpipe since it's massive. Anyways, 2 kids that have never done it before try to drop in.
Kid #1 actually knows what he's doing as opposed to kid # 2. I let him borrow my elbow pads, and I didn't think he'd do it. He was looking at the halfpipe for a good hour looking at the drop in. So he drops in, leans too far back, but gets down the ramp, and nails his head. Ouch.
Kid #2 is not the skating type. He's wearing Nike shoes specifically designed for running, basketball shorts, and a collared polo shirt. I asked him if he could drop in on the bowl, he said I can drop in on a quarter pipe. He points to the mini one, it's 3 feet max. I said you might want to try the bowl before this. He looked at the bowl and said nah. He drops in, jumps off even before his front wheels hit the ground. Airdrops the rest. Lands on the board from 10 feet up, cracks a kids board he borrowed in half.
