First I'd try do some research, and talk to some people that have the same cars, or similair makes or models.

Anyways, you could also look on google, and some car forums. Check for things like transmission problems, and reliability.

Here's a link I found about the reliability of an Audi A4, not the same car, and a fair bit older, but the problems may still remain in the A3.

it sounds like you need to decide what type of vehicle you want first.

Truck? Sedan? Coupe? etc etc.....then compare models.....then trim levels.....then pick options, colors etc.

You should end up with like maybe 2 or 3 individual cars that fit your choices. Then pick one.

Did I mention the cost of a 1965 VW Bug in 1995 was 1100.00, I showed up with 900.00 cash from a summer job and the ride was mine...

This 30 K first car shit is crazy, your too young to appreciate that kind of vehicle.

This is kind of what it looked like with out the special paint, same color but 1965 smaller old school tail lights

like dale said.. choose what type of car you want then go on from there.
and do some of your own research, dont let US tell YOu what to get. maybe you can ask if anyone has that type of car and how they like it. try some car forums. and YES. GOOGLE IS VERY GOOD.

haha yeahh i would keep it cuase i think its such a sweet suv but its an L4 which makes it really sloww and everythings been breaking on it latlely..rear windows wont work, antenna wont go down and im not getting that good of gas mileage on it even after changing the filters and oil and plugs. overall having a used car is such a hassle to maintain.

worked on an audi today at work. hydraulic lines leading to the top were leaking, long story short audi charged us $61 for like 2 pints of their hydraulic fluid, almost $300 for the lines, etc. needless to say have money for repairs if stuff starts going wrong if you want an audi.

i understand ya on that. but if it is maintained from the start, you shouldn't have too many problems. yeah window motors/regulators go, power antenna's go. hard to avoid those burning out, just happens over time.

Overall? Taco. There's few things (if any, really) a double cab Taco can't do that an A3 can - you get the same passenger capacity and 4 wheel drive. But with a Taco you have a flat bed (the only annoyance there is that people ask to borrow it), off-road capability, and greater reliability.

The only thing you don't get with a Taco is the status of owning and Audi.
There's a good chance you've handled my ass-pennies. That gives me the edge.

and if you get a taco and are like "wow, i love my new taco!" some people may be like "i mean, i'd prefer a burrito"

if you say you love your audi, no one will confuse it with a (delicous) food item

that would weigh heavily in my decision

I promise, 30K could easily fix every one of those problems.

yeah, rock crawling is fun. but. here in florida, we dont have rocks. we have mud, and swamps. so our vehicles are suited for that.
