    Default Red Tide........shit.

    http://www.baynews9.com/content/36/2...28/166142.html

Well this really sucks. I hope it doesn't get as bad as last year, that lasted throughout the whole summer. Couldn't even set foot on the beach without barfing.

This is why Florida sucks so much.

It's just traces of it now but I'm sure a big bloom will come up soon.

i don't know about florida, but in california when the red tide hits, the whitewater glows at night as the wave is breaking. it doesn't solve your problem of getting sick, but it may be something to try out before it gets worse.

Was that you that did that at the Double Barrel contest last year and got the catfish spine stuck in your foot? They had to pull that thing out with pliers.

It was crazy. Some kid landed right on one and the whole catfish was stuck in the bottom of his foot then they broke the spine thing off and then they ripped that out with some pliers. It was pretty disgusting.

haha yep. Red tide is a algae bloom that i think takes out the oxygen in water. It smells really bad, makes your throat and eyes burn, and kills fish.

the algae sucks all of the oxygen out of the water.

edit: well not all of the oxygen, but a lot of it.

Huge algae blooms, and its nature, why stop it? And the only way i think would be to take all of it out, which is almost impossible to find all the algae.

Yea man , I went out friday night at the beach and the skim was flat but the moon was out so I got a little sand skimming in, and there was no traces of red tide (fort myers Beach). Then the next day there it is red tide and dead fish.

I have seen the worse of it out around red fish and captiva pass, talking about some gross stuff. Last year it took out some huge tarpon and they washed up on the beach and this was not in the inland it was on the outer coast. tarpon never get fracked up by it either they say.

Wel global warming and pollution, we won't have much left in the gulf it it goes the way it is now. Red tide will take over, we still can't do nothing about it but wait it out.

well here in southern NC we have had like 3 sewer spills, so i guess its kinda similar, makes the marsh really smelly and they tell noone to go in the water. And it kills fish and theres Ecoli and shit (no pun intended).

I made a joke about it too. I siad:"That sewer company really needs to get their shit together."
