not really. i've worked on a golf course for 4 years now and i do it all the time whenever we get rain in central fl. the only time you will screw up the course is if you skim on the greens. the grass is so short on it it just tears the grass up. if you do it on the fairways, roughs, or bunkers it won't hurt it at all. But i only do this after big rains and hurricanes. the rest of the time i'm actually skimming at a beach.

I skim golf course all the time, you can get some long runs on them. Plus you can transfer from the sand trap to go down a hill.

Its fun if you bring out a pvc rail or some stuff to ollie over. We used to skim the big rec lawn outside of the dorms freshman year.
