    Default random question about china

Anyone know what the convention is in China for time? I imagine they use a 24-hour clock, rather than AM/PM?

I'm trying to arrange a meeting and the guy in china seems confused.

a 24 hour clock like you mean military time? 0800 hours is 8AM and 1500 is 3pm blah blah.

China is roughly 14 hrs ahead of us. My experience tells me that they use conventional am/pm time.

Both the 12-hour and 24-hour notations are used in spoken and written Chinese. However, to avoid confusion, time on schedules and public notices are typically formatted in the 24-hour system. Example: 19:45. Chinese characters that mean hour (Traditional Chinese: 時; Simplified Chinese: 时; Pinyin: sh&#237 and minute (Chinese: 分; Pinyin: fēn) are sometimes used instead of the standard colon. Example: 19時45分. 正 (zhèng) is used to mean exactly on the hour. Example: 19時正.

Mail order bride? One of my old developers got one of those - I'm dead serious. He was a funny guy, Marine, used to throw staplers at people, good developer.

This got me for some reason. I haven't actually laughed out loud this hard at a post in a while. I had sandwich in my mouth and almost inhaled it down the wrong pipe.
