not really trying for a KO. Just stating facts. Just cause we make videos of people riding big waves doesnt mean the boards dont excel in small waves. We have put a lot of work into developing a good all around board and that is reflected in things like contest results. Without saying anything negative about anyone else, I think its fair to point out that Exile's are well proven in east coast conditions...

    Thats all.

    Green = Exile
Red = Zap (dave scott rides for zap right?)
Vic didnt make the top 6 it looks like...

Now a lot of that is rider skill. But still, its obvious that exile's work just fine on the east coast.

    Recognize.

this dosen't show board quality and how exile is the supreme being of the world , it shows the true skill of the rider . i'll bet my nuts if grady brendan and domke rode a vic , the the results would be the same .

the board dosen't make the rider , the rider makes it self .

contest results dont have to do with boards... that has to do with what those people want to ride and how they ride... whoever this thread is for... ur gonna have ur own opinion.

the point is, exile's work anywhere. not just "aliso and cabo"

mine's almost 2.5 years now, and still in a pretty good shape, i've bought another one last week, but i'm already starting to miss the one i'm riding right now, so i guess the new board will have at least one year as a "benchsitter/back-up board"

but i think that if you take good care of your board, your board will take good care of you. i.e. keep the board clean, repair scratches dings, etc etc, you know what i mean.

p.s. europe is getting exiles too since some years, and mine outlived at least 4 european made boards.(note : the boards did not get much love from the owner(s))
But a friend of mine has an ultravac (vic, obv.) and his one is holding up well too. (mostly because he takes good care of the board)

What i'm trying to say is:
Get what you like, and get what fits you. Not what other people like.
If you have to ask people what you should ride , hell yes you're gonna hear the word exile, because their service is darn good, and so are their boards, but there are a lot of other companies too that will -without any doubt- give great service too, and great boards, 12-13(?) times world champ bill bryan rides for vic, he's doing great on his board, so is morgan just.
And now to step outside the "vic/exile box, how about Jason Wilson? He shreds too, on a zap, Koty used to kill it on a grape and european guys are ripping waves to shreds on revolutions, varua's, unamas' and what not.

It's not the board that makes the difference , it's your skills that do.

I didnt say exile was the supreme of the world. i said they are proven boards in east coast conditions.

I was responding to your point which I took as "Exiles arent as good on the east coast"

My point is that exile's are plenty good on the east coast.

I am not saying that the boards take credit for the riders perfomance. I am saying that the boards perform well enough to allow talented riders to win pro events on the east coast. I cant understand how that same board would then be classified as not good on the east coast.

    Thats all...

i assumed the waves on the east coast were not as of quality and size as the west coast . The only time i really use an exile is when the waves are chest to head high , in smaller condistions i use my vic . I like both boards , i just use the right board to the right condition , i just wanted to stress my opinion that exiles are the best boards to ride in perfect conditions , they still preform well in the smaller stuff , BUT IN MY OPINION vics are better in small conditions , but i still love my exile in the bigger or smaller stuff

i always give love to victoria, with out Tex skimboarding wouldn't be what it is today.

No worries man. I just wanted to express my opinion too.

I would mention that just because your specific exile is better suited towards bigger waves doesnt speak fr the whole brand. We make different rockers, different sizes, different thicknesses... all of that matters too. If you ordered something a little different from exile you could almost certainly get something that was a little better suited towards east coast conditions. You just have to make sure and get the right thing.

Noogie Paulo and Grady all have different boards for riding in the east coast comps. I know at least a couple riders on Vic who do the same.

I wondered about this before but never remembered to ask. Do they just use 3/4" or traditional rockers or what?

hmm ic I would probably have a hard time adjusting if I had to use a different board, even if it were an Exile. I guess that's another way to show their skillfulness

    answer these:

    weight -
    ability (1-10) -
    current board including size -
    where on the eastcoast -
what you are looking for that would make it better (things you dont like about your board, or things you want in a new board) -
