percentage wise, temperature has very little affect on water density.
http://antoine.frostburg.edu/chem/se...r-density.html
water density would only affect buoyancy.
and buoyancy has very litte affect on skimboard performance.
So overall, the affect seems like it would be very very small.
Furthermore, I have never noticed a difference.

it does affect wax though
The J-Gordon Retro Fish is the nicest board I've ever ridden.
but they have different waxes that adapt to different temp situations

it would have to be very cold, like near freezing to probably be able to feel a difference in water density, becaue that is when the water molecules start bonding together.

one guy on that forum is selling an ultra for 400 bucks, a wedge for 300 and a carbon exile for 100ill take the exile.
If that guy didn't put rocket launchers on it then its not worth it.Originally Posted by skimsurfallday

water temp has no effect. Cabo- warm water and great waves.
Safety is for people who don't know what they are doing.
in south carolina the water is a cool 86

wow aaron. please do not ever set up these mb's like that one.
Where all the white women at?
unless you go skimming in the arctic on a frozen mass of water, then there is a difference.

yeah if its like a hot summer day then cool water is fine but like, you kno

cold water slows you down, but doesnt effect the board

are you guys just making this stuff up? there are so many random statements in this thread with no backup... its silly.
if you think you know something then at least state why you think you know it. instead of "it would have to be really cold" why dont you click the link that is in this thread and see foryourself exactly what temp has what density. instead of stating "it slows you down" at least say "I heard from my stoner hippy buddy that it slows you down..."
i was talking about how you physically run slower when you're cold
