So i have the choice between a Droid Charge (0$ for phone upgrade) or an Iphone 4 (not s) for $100 bucks.

Pros for iphone: goes well with my macbook, I like the OS and i'm used to it, like the size
cons: more expensive, doesn't have as good of camera

pros droid charge: Free, got good reviews, faster processor, better camera (8mp)
cons: never had a droid, doesn't compliment macbook, a little big.

halp me somb, halp me pleez!

IPhone if you like a phone that will keep working forever. Droid if you want a phone that will shit out in 1 year like a PC.

Would the Great Lakes be considered a set of inland seas?

The Great Lakes in recent history may have become saltier than they were in the past, but there is not enough evidence yet to say that it is caused by global warming (or melting polar icecaps). The increase in salt concentrations for now is likely a result of lower rainfall and snowfall in the areas around the lakes. All fresh water has some salt in it, and the more a lake dries out, the saltier it gets.

Just get the iphone already, Droids are for kids still in high school. If you are in high school, get the iphone anyway.

On another note, just dropped about 3k on photography stuff. More spending may ensue

You know I used to hate on mac fanboys hard, and I'm definitely not a fanboy. All I know is every mac I've ever used works just as good 4 years after it's purchase date as it did right out of the box. As a lifelong PC user, who had multiple laptops which worked great for 6 months then slowly died, I fell in love with Macs when I first started using them as a digital media major in college. My 3 y/o Gateway PC takes literally 10 minutes to start up, and overheats so bad it literally burns my thighs if I use it as a "laptop". I have used multiple 3+ y/o Macs, every one runs like a dream.

I had 3 droid phones. The Eris was great for about 4 months, then it started to freeze and lock all the time. It's life ended with me chucking it into a concrete wall after deciding to call a random person for the umpteenth time. I got another droid phone, can't remember the model. It was terrible pretty much right out of the box. Finally I got the Droid X. I loved it for the screen, and it worked great for (whaddya know) about 6 months. Then it started not giving me voicemail notifications, freezing, crashing, etc etc.

There are two downsides to Apple products. The price, and the lack of customization (but I'm not a hacker so I really don't give a shit about that). When I'm shelling out hundreds of dollars for technology I use every day, I like knowing that it's ALWAYS going to work. That's why I switched to apple. I sometimes miss PCs, but then I realize it's retarded to miss a ~$1000 piece of technology that slowly dies after 6 months, which has happened to me with every PC I've ever owned. I have never once missed any of my droids. 3 strikes and droid's out.

Are you honestly comparing apples to apples? I know you said 1000 dollar PC. I know that Macs are good quality (they are expensive so should be.) I have had problems with PC laptops, but at the same time I have never really spent over 600 bucks on a laptop. If you honestly paid 1000 dollars for your laptop then it was probably towards the higher end, or you got duped. I would expect my 1000 dollar laptop to last, but like I said, I have never paid that much for one.

Android on the other hand is kind of a differenst story. The droid eris is a version of the hero, which is old and a piece of crap, even when it came out. Middle phone cant comment on because you didn't know what it was. I never really trusted motorolla anyways, so I never would have picked up the droid X to begin with. I did just pick up the htc one x after having my samsung galaxy s 2 for a year without issues, before that I had the evo for sprint, which I also had for a year without issues.

You kind of need to know what you're doing I guess.

Hondarider at no point in your post did you make it seem like you know what you're doing, but that's pretty typical of your posting. The reviews on the droid x were extremely good, (yes I did research before buying!) so I got it. Like I said it was great for awhile, but I was let down.

Please find me an out of the box PC under $1000 that is guranteed to last longer than a Mac. I'll wait. Until you can do that, I have no issues with paying 2x more for a piece of technology that will last at least twice as long. Sometimes I miss windows... then I remember that almost every PC I've ever owned/used for an extended period of time has failed miserably at some point. I know I could build my own but I lack the time and interest to do so.

On that last point, I find shin-n's graphic to be pretty accurate. Out of the box PCs tend to suck. If you put serious time and effort into them, you can have a great computer that will outperform any mac. I prefer buying things that work right way but that's just me.

In your quest to confront me you seem to have missed my point completely. First of all, as far as android goes, I know way more than you, and now that you have switched away I always will. I have been using android since the G1 came out, have been heavily involved in the modding community, and have spent countless hours playing with phones. All I said to you was that I was never a fan of motorolla, and therefore would not have picked up the Droid X myself. The droid eris was a piece of shit, just like my G1 was a piece of shit when I got it.

Also, for somebody complaining about software issues, the reviews that you praise should have probably given you a little heads up.

Cast in that light, the Droid X becomes a much less magical phone than the Droid was. It's good, and it's a pretty enjoyable execution of Android 2.1, but it's not a must-have phone -- especially in light of the Droid Incredible and the upcoming Droid 2. From a hardware perspective, this phone is pretty much a bang-on execution of what a high-end mobile powerhouse should be, but Motorola clearly still has work to do in order to play in the same software league as HTC does with Sense. If it can get there -- or heck, if it can just offer this phone with stock Froyo -- you've got perhaps the best Android phone ever made.
    Motoblur sucks, end of story.

Secondly, your point point about PC's was my point. Macs cost around a grand. I don't expect my 500 dollar pc to compete, even though they share the same insides, I know that the quality cannot possibly be matched if Im paying that much less. What I was saying (or asking) was whether you were comparing 1000 dollar PC's to a 1000 dollar mac. I claimed that I have never owned a 1000 dollar laptop, and therefore cannot comment on whether or not build quality and longevity are going to be there.

Big man hondarider is highly respected in the droid modding community guys, watch out! Are the other phone hackers afraid of your massive traps?

I like how you pulled the one negative paragraph out of the review and didn't post any link to it, that's highly convenient. Obviously that is not one of the reviews that I "praised so much."

And no, you didn't ask if I was comparing $1000 macs to $1000 PCs. Maybe in your mind you thought so, but you definitely didn't say that as you angrily smashed your keyboard. So what does Bill Gates' dick taste like anyway?

The review was from engadget, and it was the wrap up, where they sum up the phone. I figured that would be a reasonable place to start.

I just read that Engadget review. The last line says the phone had the potential to be the best droid ever made. The article did bash Motorola a little, but the phone was highly praised throughout the review. You didn't post the whole wrap up, just the part that supported your argument. You're almost as good at selective quotation as you are at having an imaginary girlfriend.
