Nicaragua
Me and a few buddies have a plan in the works now about going to Nicaragua in early August (we were going to costa, but this may be cheaper)
Anyway, this is mainly a surf trip but I plan on bringing the skim if there's any possibility... anyone have any experience with this place?

One of my roommates from college is down there right now for the whole summer. This is his 4th summer in a row going all summer for surfing. He returned after the 2nd summer with a wifey, haha... He has some cool pictures from down there and some rad stories, like hiking through the rain forest with your board under your arm hoping that someone drives by to pick you up and take you to the coast, haha...

haha i wouldn't feel comfortable around AK's either. it could mess up my concentration skimming. that would be catastrophic. haha

The Nic is not that bad. Get a nice coastal hotel and you will never see any AKs. My friend goes down there too and we might be going mid August if I can scrape cash. Also primarily a surf trip but the skimboard is coming for sure. The waves at a perfect tide can get to double overhead and glass, low tide = chest high fun!!!!!!!!!!!!
