What are you currently using? And between the slot and exile I'd go w/ the slot if you need the float, but if not get the exile. Or jsut get the exile 3/4"

If you're sinking, try and get a 3/4" cause you'll hae better float.

no its just a good transition from the foamie you are riding. if u are REALLY into getting as much float as possible, get a SOL

    lol

if money is very tight, i would spend the 27 dollars and get the s-glass exile but if you think you could spend a couple weeks scraping up some cash its only 78 more than an e-glass for a carbon. how much do you weigh, what are the waves like that you ride and do you have trouble reaching them?

    im around 115lbs
the wave usually break on shore so its not to much of a problem getting to the waves. Just if they are a lil father i will sink right before the wave

Yea my friend lets me use his vic poly and i dont really like it that much.. yet its a lil beat up... he just picked up a Slotstik Provac and its pretty cool. Im just looking for a board that will allow me to get better at wave riding and it will last me a year or 2. So i think the exile e-glass may be my best bet

Boadman, I think the Exile Eglass 3/4" Hybrid would be a good choice for you. If you compare it to the Slotstik Slotvac, the Exile has a slightly fuller shape (esp in the front half of the board) that will be alittle bit more forgiving while you are learning. For your weight you could go with a Medium or Medium-Small. The 3/4" thickness is def what you want to go with for the conditions you ride and your skill level.

Dont sweat the Eglass/Sglass thing too much, yes Sglass is stronger and stiffer but with your budget the Eglass is the right choice. Chances are you will not be able to tell the difference and the board will last just as long. Hope that helps.

Yes, any of those sizes would work well for you. The Exile sizes are so similar that the difference between a Small and a Medium is only .5" in width. The differences in sizes really gives you the ability to fine tune the size of your board. Do you really need that many choices? Maybe not, but its still nice to have.

If you want your board to be more maneuverable you would want to go with the Small, want more float and better plaining? Go with the MS or M. Personally I think riders who are still learning how to ride waves should go alittle bit bigger, plus with all the santa cruz liners alittle bit more float probably wouldnt hurt. Basically once you get in the general ballpark, its up to personal preference. If you havent come up with those preferences yet, no sweat, I dont think you will make a bad choice with any of the boards talked about.

"float" has a lot more to do with the size and configuration of the board you ordered compared to how much you weigh, rather than the logo on the board.

no particular brand of board is "floatier" than another. It all depends on what size shape thickness and rocker you get. And more float always comes at the cost of manueverability.

Dave is right when he recommends a bigger thicker board for beginning riders. He gave you some good advice there.

I would definitely get a Small. I'm 130 and have a Medium Exile, and I am regretting it. I really wished that I could have gone with a smaller size, possibly a MS or even a S. Once you get better, you will find that a smaller board is a little more preferred. Or it was at least in my case. Plus, you skim where you actually have a good shorebreak and bigger waves. The float issue should resolve a little more once you get better and learn more.
