how long did it take for you to be able to get up skurfing? Im still having alot of trouble standing up my on beater, I cant even imagine trying to go straight to skurfing from skimming

Catchsurf days are the best days. I love having the option to either pull into a barrel bodyboarding, or trying to stand up, or just riding it on a knee.

Before moving down here i skimmed in santa cruz so the rocks down here arent as bad as alot of the spots that im used to.

i just moved down to san diego for school and ive been going to the north end of marine at low tide the last week and its been pretty good other than the rocks that you have to watch out for.

ive never ridden a pro model, but i would guess it would be the same as any other board; its always best to ride one and see if you like it before you buy one.
