I also really dislike when the drop is shown and then they cut to the wrap. I like to see slide slip, or pumping...

Maybe try dropping on the wet sand before you even get to the water. I had a problem getting my balance dropping on water, and wobbling around would slow me down. The wet sand is very forgiving...
