I'm from Muskegon, MI and I can honestly say that the skim here is pretty good. It is nothing compared to saltwater; however, on good days here, I have no complaints. Plus, I am terrified of sharks...

I'd also like to add that I can paddle-take off as well. It's an XL, I'm roughly 6'2-3" and 185; therefore, I think fins would be sweet.
