its basically like any other skimboard with a wider nose...floats and catches waves a little easier supposedly at the cost of manueverability...but in my opinion skimboards are so small in general...

Get a 3/2, boots, gloves, and a hood. Make sure the seams are glued and blindstitched and you're golden. Skimming in anything thicker is a massive pain in the ass. I used a 3/2 in 38 degree water...

there's another way you can go I ended up trying to avoid tolls and it took me through all these mountains in the middle of nowhere...made the drive a little more...

I dunno who's gonna come out for the contest this year but based on the past two years if you can stand on a skimboard you can compete in jr mens...i'd say the best competition is gonna be in mens...
