I think a 3/4" Recruit should be plenty good (and durable) for you to try wave riding. If you really want to step it up to an epoxy board don't let me stop you... but it seems like the Recruit would definitely be good enough, save you some cash and let you try out one of our shapes at the same time. Then later, if you like it and want to step it up, you will have more cash to step up to Carbon, which is where the big performance difference is (carbon boards are stiff). As for size and shape, I would probably go with a MS 3/4" Hybrid if you are a slower runner. If you are really fast and like a manueverable board, go with a small hybrid 3/4" Let me know if you have more questions! Aaron
Hi There, Thats for considering Exile as your first wave riding board. The main difference between the Eglass and Recruit will be durability. Both are very good, but the recruit not quite as durable as the Eglass. How much do you weigh and where do you skim? Aaron
