I have an idea to create an app that would mix social networking and surfing / skim boarding together . One would be able to use the app to see how the surf is for that day ( surf report) but then have people who are surfing/ skim boarding at the desired location post how it is at the time . They would be able to say if there is a lot of people there or not, first hand experience about the waves. Then people can check in at the location and other people can see them and maybe the people near each other can meet up and hang. Or maybe people who register can stay on map like waze but I sorta find that creepy.

I'm making a trip to the west of the United States with the family, and as a part of the trip we are travelling from San Fransisco to San Diego in 13 days or something like that. One of those days I want to go to a famous skimspot, just to watch some guys skim and maybe catch a wave myself.

So my question is, at what beach do I have the best chance to see some pro's, great waves and sick rides? I know it all depends on the forecast, but there must be a beach that is usually crowded.

- A stoked Dutchy

HI

I'M FROM GUADALAJARA MEXICO, WE DON'T HAVE BEACH IN THE CITY BUT IT TAKES ME 2:30 HR TO GET THERE.

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A VICTORIA WOODY SKIM BOARD, I´M A BEGINNER AND I GOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE ON IT, BUT WITH WOODY I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET INTO THE WAVES, SO I SAW A NEW VICTORIA FOAMIE BOARD AND I BOUGHT IT.

I'M 131 lb AND I BOUGHT VICTORIA 48X20, I READ THAT FOAMIE IS FOR BEGINNERS AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF WITH THIS BOARD I WILL BE ABLE TO GET INTO THE WAVES?
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FOAMIE VS A VICTORIA-PRO BOARD? BOTH OF THEM FLOAT IN WATER RIGHT? BUT I SAW IN IMAGES THAT FOAMIE IS LITTLE SMALLER.

SHOULD I BOUGHT A FOAMIE 49.5X21 THAT IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN MY RIGHT WEIGHT? OR IS IT OK 48X20?

DO ANY ONE OF YOU HAVE YOUTUBE VIDEOS WITH A FOMIE BOARD IN ORDER TO SEE WHAT KIND OF TRICKS I'M GONNA ABLE TO DO WITH THIS BOARD? I WILL BE TRAVELING TO MELAQUE BEACH IN 2 WEEKS AND I REALLY WANNA SPENT GOOD TIME SKIMBOARDING WITH THIS BOARD

THANK YOU

I'm looking for a new board, and I'm trying to keep this thread from turning into a long battle between sponsor/employee. I'm not concerned if the boards are made of crap, or that all the best pros ride for this company. I know it all depends on the rider, and I should go out there and try out the boards. Most of my buddies ride exile, so my selection isn't the greatest. I've yet to ask a random skimmer to use their board, so I figured I could come here.

This question goes to all the skimmers who have ridden boards from different companies, how did those boards ride for you? For instance, I hear exiles curve in the board makes it more forgiving for new riders, or that its harder to hold the face of the wave with a slotstik. Lastly which board would you recommend for the waves at Newport beach @ the wedge for an intermediate rider (185lbs with good sprinting speed).

Thanks for reading

I just moved to oceanside from long beach, and I don't know many spots down here. I usually got to laguna, newport, or seal (in the winter). I'm gonna start checking out The Wall, and I'm gonna check out "spots" list on skimonline, but I always feel its easier to learn by what other people already know. If anyone wants to skim, can show me good spots in north/south San Diego, or can just give me some advice/hintsfor skimming, I would greatly appreciate it. Been skimming for some time, really laid back, and just looking to skim some good surf, Throw me a txt or respond on here. 7144618741 thanks guys, peace!
