I lol'd because im in the same position as you.

Anyway, a couple months ago i saw a video of little kids in the Philippines making boards from wood, going out and shredding the waves. Im sure if they could get a hold of an d e-glass they would ride it till it cant be repaired anymore. That video displays a great passion for skimboarding for me, they didnt go out buying boards, they used what they had and still got up on the waves.

You idiot. The angle of that picture is deceiving. Ever heard of perspective? If you actually look at the placement of the tailpad, and take into consideration the picture enlarges the space behind the kicktail, you can confidently deduce the tailpad is properly placed. Nice try though! Also, it's too. And you need not suffix a, 's, to the equal sign. When read, it reads "equals" or "is equal to". And the domke rocker isn't even that small compared to other board companies.

well i custom ordered the board. i asked for split orange and clear carbon. ( I was shooting for scrappy flores old board) and the resin art in those colors. im guessing when the orange pigment saturated through the carbon it gave it that peanut butter color. so maybe i should of thought of that before asking for that color. but regardless of how it may look it still rides great. so im not complaining.

i filled out the order and thats how it came. but in all truthfulness if i would've walked in and bought a board from a shop. i would not of picked this. but im stoked. i just spent closee to 500 on it so even if it had a giant cock on it. i would ride it. period.

Would you like to see my order form? i left them a short story on how i wanted it to look and was very clear about what i wanted.

personally. i haven't bought a new board since 05 and it was an exile. ive rode that same exile into the fracking ground. and its still a beast. The customer service was excellent. Hank sent a picture to me while it was still in the shop. and from the date it was ordered on exiles site it was at my house in 15 days exactly. An Absolute great process.

(PS) Ive been working at a surfboard manufacturing shop for quite awhile now. i do all the sanding and polishing and a little bit of hot coating. so i understand things happen and it may not turn out exactly how the customer wanted. but, am i going to package this board up, tell aaron and hank i want my money back? no of course not. thats not how things work. would they do it for me? probably. but now exile has to sell a peanut butter poop board or it just goes to waste. and on top of that they have to make a new board for me. nahhhh. ill shred this board for as long as it holds up.

and on another note. i didnt spend 500 to have it look good so all of the young gremlins at the beach could come up and say "holy shit brah that so effin dope". i spent that money for a skimboard that should last me some years. as i had said earlier my last exile was shaped in 05 and i rode it all last summer and it was sick. technically i spent 20 bucks on cosmetics for the resin on the bottom. :)

edit* didn't even realize until i read my order again. but they messed up which side the orange was suppose to be on. i wondered why they would put a black logo over carbon because you cant really see it. but i asked it to be on the side with the orange.

theres only one thing ill say about it and ill drop it. if an order came into my work (surf board manufacturer) that asked for glow orange and after it was completed the color was off as well as the color being on the wrong side. my boss would of contacted the customer. explained what has happened. and what would the customer want to do. Or he would of sold it at a lower price, bitched out whoever fucked up, and sent a board that the customer wanted.

Just thought I'd pop in really quick. "Glow orange" and other lighter colors on the tops of our carbon boards can possibly get "diluted" (I guess would be an alright word to use) because of the black carbon behind it. Additionally the competition weight boards tend to let the carbon show even more than the normal carbon boards. This is something I explained to Mickey agreeing to build the board the way he asked.

It's things like this that help us improve. Since this we've worked on a newer orange color that we can use on the top of our carbon boards that is much more orange although a bit darker for anyone that might want that on the top. (see pic)

As for the line not being completely straight...This is only the second "split" top Exile has ever done (my personal board being the other). Due to our build process the tendency for the line to not be that straight is pretty high, which is again something that Mickey and I discussed on the phone prior to building the board.

Yeah I see what you mean but I like the white pads cause I feel it's easier to see when using peripheral vision when looking at the water when you drop than with black pads. She is though the greatest board i've ridden haha

There is no reason to post a picture of a broken board on a forum, skimboards are not indestructible so no one should act like they should be. A more appropriate place to put a picture of a broken skimboard is in an email to the manufacturer, they will probably even give you a deal on a new one if you still want to represent that company.

Mmmm that J-Gordon... I'm kinda curious on how well/long the shape holds, how flexible the board is, and its overall durability in reference to rocks and other typical factors. I definitely want one but am debating between the wood board or the Velocity collaboration.

yeah manny i think either way you are gonna get a sick ass board. the velocity one looks fun as hell, and i love my jgordon it throws buckets and sits in the pocket like nothing i've ever ridden before. you live in florida tho so i think you should get the velocity version because wood and small waves don't mix too well. oh and on flexibility, this thing is really really flexible but in the best way possible. like you can torque a frontside out as hard as you can and the board springs back into the wave with more speed. oh and it's a solid piece of fracking wood, so i have a feeling it's gonna last a long time.

more of your tail is covered with the grippy traction instead of the unreliable grip from the wax closer to the rails. if you fucked your footing up, you could recover a lot easier(in my experience) than if it were closed

one thing thats bothering me is the back pad is just a teeensy bit to far up. it feels weird when i hold the board. i guess im not just used to it. i bought Will Chan's old board and it was sooooooooo fucking perfect and amazing that i just HAD to buy another slotty when it snapped. my skimming got like 20 times better since i bought a slotty.

the sticker is from skimcity. i didn't want the same skimcity sticker everyone else had so i went with this one.
