Really? Not in Punta Cana, I would think the sloping beach combined with the reef stuff that's right there would kill and wave from coming even close to the beach? When i went there, we had to paddle out for a bit before we got to the wave, over really prickly seaweed and tetnusey looking sharp things.

haha! good shit, I rode my square the other day, love it. It was a little hard to get used to at first since I'm transitioning from my ZAP. Overall, it floats SO much better and its a lot lighter. Turning is a lil challenging, but a few more sessions and it's all gravy. Whats the size of your board? mines 50"

Hey btw, I was able to go ride my board the other day. It's awesome. It was a bit challenging at first on transitioning from what I been used to riding. But within a good 2 hours, it felt SO much better. A lot more float as well. I'm still trying to cut in turns more efficiently, but overall, Square is going to be my board for awhile. =)

Is it pretty soft?

I just talked to Jared and he said the pad is not soft, but it's thin and he likes the way it works. I tried it myself and like it too. I don't like thick soft traction pads, I guess because I have used just wax most of my life. So if you like thick soft pads, don't get Palmer's. But on the other hand, I liked every thin pad I have tried, I guess because I like how you can still move your feet around on the board with out lifting them.

shortbus hooked me up prob was a bad decision to drop him, got so many boards from them but apex is the shit and has helped me out BIG PROPS TO ARNE OVER AT APEX! Curtis Cromwell over shortbus is an awesome and is trying something very risky but sick, ill call it PROJECT X. If project X works he will have the ultimate skimboard for all conditions. Curtis continues to keep me posted on spots down in buxton, especially his newest find which has a great potential for both BS/FS siders and very long liners, and hes a great guy. So if any body wants to help somebody out Curtis is your man and he has a great family and team to go along with it. I think both joey and willy have been gettin progressively better since they have joined the team. Had his wife come and take pictures of me in her free time, which she didnt have to do and turns out to be some of the best shots i have ever gotten. When i started with curtis his boards were not all that great and he has came along way and i mean alongggggggg way since febuary. from boards that weighed close to 10 pounds to carbon boards that weigh close to 3.2 pounds and i give him mad props. Curtis gave me a 46" fish very blunt nose never rode one before and turned out to be the best board ive had. Curtis not only is stepping up his game in skimming but is also a great surfboard shaper/glasser and can even fix a firewire which is unheard of in the surfing community. Sure shortbus isnt the coolest or raddest name out there but give it a break he wants to be differant he wants to keep it small and close to home he does it for the LOVE! He is working his ass off everyday to keep shortbus rolling, i think he wakes up at 4 surfs or whatever goes to the in the eye factory and shapes surfboards eats lunch and then goes and works the Natural Art surfshop where hes a manager, i think. comes home around 9 and works on skimboards. i used to have his checking the email times to around 6am, noon and around 9pm. He works his ASS of to make his team larger and hopes to be sponsoring events in the near future. Curtis is the man, a great father and im sure if anything would happen to mine he would have my back, and a progresses the sport of skimboarding. I know this is a little more then what was asked but felt it was somewhat necessary, sorta. This is no way any form an ad for shortbus this is straight from the heart.

this is the spot at low tide, most siders work at high except a few, so both corey and i think this spot has the opportunity to become really good with the right conditons. Curtis is checking this every day and letting me now, when and what swell this spot will fire!

i think we have both over come the drop, and are relationship has grown to become more as a friendship then business like, personally i like it more and trust me i could go on and on about curtis and the stuff he does for both sports but i think that will do.

willy your not the only one, think of this as well of all you other sombers. Curtis put his life into skimboarding something that isnt very popular in hatteras especially when you have world class surf less than a mile away, he puts tons of research and development into things that might work or might not. Back a few years ago when he and Jenifer(wife) lived in costa rica he has set up an entire surf camp that was gonna be the whole 9 yards including a tv show on MTV, until it was alll taking away (to my understanding) by the government. Give the man some respect he has done to much for me, willy, joey, neil, thomas, webb, etc. for you guys to make his company a joke just because of the name. "hahah shortbus skimboards must be made by a rutard hahah" That is one thing he is not prob has just as much knowledge in fiberglass, vacum bagging, etc. as some of the creators of the sport including Tex, Peluso, J.gordan, Adrian(RIP), etc., hell he might even know more
