Actually, he didnt get it wrong, thats where they are putting the logos, as I said in the post where I showed my board you have to ask to move the logos down against the rail. The stock location is up at the nose and against the left rail like how you have it.

A bit heavier than the Exile though, and has crazy sharp rails that I'm sure are gonna bring some carnage. So sharp I've cut my fingers a little just picking it up. Worth it though.

I used to always skim with rear pad and arch bar, beakers to be exact. Then I went on to try completely padless and waxless since my board has the surface traction. And after a while I felt like the read surface was wearing a little smooth possibly so I put on a rear pad again. My current setup.

Question is. Do you really feel the need for a rear pad? And an arch bar? DO you feel either of them, or any particular traction pad setup enhances your abilities? Thanks.

I skimmed for like 4 months(when I started skimboarding) With a rear pad and just wax. Now I have a arch bar and It really helps me I feel like I can turn faster and my foot doesn't slip up. Another thing about an arch bar is it help keep my foot straighter so its easier to keep my balance and also easier to slid slip.

Yeah I agree that the rear pad has helped with my skimming just like having a tail on a skateboard, something to kick off of, but the arch bar thing has seemed kind of excessive to me. It's cool though. I really enjoyed the completely padless for a while but I felt my tricks suffered slightly.

I think a rear pad helps as far as foot placement and giving you that sense of stability. It's more for the planted feel. I skimmed without an arch, just wax, and pad and bought a arch to try it out. I don't mind it, but when I get my exile next I'm going to try just back pad for a while.

yeah i hate wax, and am glad i made the switch to texture grip boards. that was my biggest thing. skimming seems so much more fun without wax, and by that i mean not having to ever take off an entire coat to redo it, or not having dirty shitty stiff wax, and not having to even buy it! i would either do full traction pads or texture deck now. god, wax rant. good luck with the back pad.

Two things that are good about a rear pad and arch bar, your feet never slip and you know your feet are in the right place.

Before I came out with my skim wax, I tested many of the top brands and this is what I came up with. Some wax was like a bar of clay, and when you rub it on it would just smear. And others would not bump up. And only a few would bump up nice. If you don't like your wax, just get a different brand everytime you buy some, until you find something you like. FTW
