The maui is really fun to ride, its a little slow but really fun for liners. I noticed after rideing the square that the maui isnt very good for wraping, it does more of a turnaround than a wrap. The square hugs the face really well when coming down, but with the maui I would have to push all my weight forward just to come down straight and then turn back twords the wave to complete the wrap. With the square, im aready parrellel with the wave when im coming down.
The maui is also good when turning frontside. I can frontside better on the maui right now but that will prolly change after a few more sessions with the square. I try and model my frontside from pics in surfing mags of people snapping frontside, it seems to work pretty good. For the maui anyway

They're basically a mini surfboard. The shape is a lot different too.

Yeah. maui's are a class on their own.

They are very thick (around 1.5"), have 4 grooves in the bottom to act like fins and are basically a different shape all around. I'm describing a MS-1 here. The MS-2 and 3 are different as well.

They are really a versatile board. Great for wake-surfing and wake skimming on top of regular skim

Really good looking board. All the squares i've seen have good pad/logo/deck colors. Did you ride it before you took this pic? That could be the splotchyness (the flash playing with the salt/unsalty parts of the board)

not new, i think that it has already been released 1 year or so ago.
and if u look through skimshop, skimcity and a few more, u won't find it.
that was why i was asking....
the board is 2cm thick, has lots of floating(not sure if u refer to this like that) , what here in portugal is really important beacause waves are far and usually beaches aren't much steep, so = less speed), is really fast and is only available in carbon fiber
mega is using them.
andreskim tryed one out this weekend and was amazed with the board

Perfect Wake Surf board.

If it does manage to get big enough here (about 4 times a year if you're lucky)....I'll give it a shot on normal skim

About 4x lighter than any of the branded "wake surf" boards in the shops. I like really light boards. Plus the channel bottom really intrigues me.
