Last year i have made the same thread....
Who do you think is the best hockey player ( this year ) between

Sydney crosby and alexander ovechkin and why?

Alexander Ovechkin is way better than Sidney Crosby hands down. I think this because Ovie scores sets up teammates plays hard and hits. He also has tremendous vision and speed. He has a lot of instinct. Crosby however does all of those things just not as well. He also does not hit.

would u say that alexander is better then gretzky ( when he was playing)
Gretzky wasnt that fast and didnt hit that much. Just like crosby.
Ovechkin shoot a lot but he misses most of his shoot. In the diffenrencial he ve got like -11 instead of +13 or something for crosby. there is 14 pts that seperate both with 5 games less for crosby. I think crosby has more vision that ovechkin.

my vote goes to Sydney

Why didnt Sid make Canada in the Olympics? Ovie has 71 points with 33 goals. Ovie won Rookie of the year last year. Ovie played in the Olympics. Ovie has more goals than Crosby does this year?

Crosby didn't win Rookie of the Year last year because he fell short a few points... I think Crosby is much better. More points and less games played...

The fact that Crosby is the most targetted player in the league, by every team, AND STILL puts up the numbers shows why he's the greatest. Do you think every team wants him to score and set up goals against them? No, but he finds a way to do it against them night after night.

Ovechkin on the other hand is just as good... on offence. Have you seen Ovechkin on the penalty kill? Ever? Point, set, match.

Crosby didnt make the olympic because ( the coach said he was too young) thats just a stupid reason. DONt dofrget that crosby is only 19 years old and ovie is 22 i think at least.
Crosby kicks ass the league this year

Are you fucking joking your gonna try to say that ovie only plays offense. He is a 2 way player. And your saying Ovie isnt targeted?? They made him change his visor tint to a lighter one because goalies were complaining it was distracting them.
BTW i have a lot of respect for Crosby im just think that Ovie's better.
Ovie, Crosby and Malkin are the future on the NHL

LAX is for people who wish they could play hockey but cant skate.
and if hockey is so retarded then why isnt Pro LAX as big as pro hockey. The AHL is bigger than the MLL .

i think the only reasonable way to figure out who is better is a cage match between ovechkin, crosby, and a tiger.

i think crosby is a steadier player, ovie is good but he doesnt always get things done, the +/- is a good example of that. also crosby is on the penguins who are doing horrible, but he still has way more points

You are very uneducated about hockey and should not talk about it. The so called "horrible penguins" are in 4th in the Eastern Conference in Points(65) and the Caps are in 12th in points(54)
however the plus minus shows that Crosby has a defense(the penguins have a very solid defense) while the Capitals lack defense and more than 75 percent of the team are minuses

for someone who supposedly knows so much about hockey i would have thought you would know it's Jonathon Tavares. he didn't even make the world junior squad this year.

as far as touting him as the next gretzky, i'd say that's super inflated. he is just not electric enough - i have seen him play a couple times, and although he's gifted he just doesn't hold a candle to gretz.

. im just saying its a big mistake to say that Penguins are doing bad when they are actully are doing very well this season and already have more points than they did last year. And about Jonathan Taveras i also think he is being thought of higher than what he is although he had 45 goals last year at the age of 15 in a major Junior league with mostly 17 and 18 year-olds.

lol yeah he's good matt, just not "that" good.

there is a difference between messier and gretzky. what do you think of jordan staal, and the penguins idea of keeping him around instead of sending him to the minors?

at the begging of the season i thought to myself the penguins are idiots for not putting him in the minors but i guess i was wrong if there in 4th place in the Eastern Conference but i think they should have let him develop more.

When i was at districts we played at JP Igloo there home rink i believe. and we only had one goalie so they had to give us a backup goalie in order for us to be able to play. His name was Clai

do a lot of players in the NJ state tourny go to D1 schools for hockey, seems like in MN all the teams that make it to the state tourny have a hand full of kids that are already committed to D1 schools, and are private schools and public schools a big rivalry?
