Did I miss the memo? Or is this new to everyone else as well?
How is this whole situation working out?
EDIT: I see it was discussed in the Zaplix traction, but how does this work out with Paradise C?

the product might be back, but kevin has nothing to do with it. i was just hanging out with him on friday. moving in his new direction, paradise coalition is going strong, he donates a percentage of his profits to the youth fund of the peace corps (hence his peace sign logo), cause quote kevin: "something's gotta change".
Wasn't Poorboy run by two guys?

designs are meh but the black and red is pretty gnarly. A red and black beaker would be nuuuuts.

My friend had a black Beaker pad with red crosses spraypainted on it. But then I found out that it was all spraypaint, and actually a white beaker pad, so it faded away, kinda bummer... still sick though.

I talked to Steve quite often about doing contests. (poorboy helped alot with my contests) and I am guessing the other guy was Kevin that Jim speaks of.

yeah the owner of an online skim shop wouldn't know better than ken or anything.

exactly.
Ken is the most ignorant person on these boards, which would be considered sad.

Astrodeck was the first pad out there and is the best and probably does sell the most. I would like to see the numbers of whos company sells more units before someone thinks that xtrak sells more. Last time I checked Matt took off from xtrak and started freak so just imagine how many stores he took over with freak instead of xtrak. Ken I would like to see your reasoning behind thinking this.

I am talking skim industry here not the whole surf industry--I can hardly keep Beakers in stock.

think about it. look at the industrys Xtrak sells alot of pads. all the stores i know around here best seller is xtrak. This might change with Freak just came out because there killer pads.
im not saying astrodeck isnt bad neither is poor boy.
im not taking sides. But from my experience from what i see at the local shops xtrak is the main seller.
so i could very well be wrong probly am but this is what i see.

yea its not even funny how many shops carry freak already. their sales rep does a good job! give freak a little while and im sure they will be right at the top. astrodeck sells alot because in like 1902 herbie fletcher started making those things before anyone even knew what they were for. they are good pads but peel pretty bad and also cant back up a 100% stay stuck promise like freak does.

Astrodeck sells far more than anything else in skimming.
I presume for surfing as well. If not, it has more to do with distribution and availability (from the factory) than anything else.
Look at astrodecks team (everyone who has pro pads). None of those guys are even paid. They just ride them cause they like them. Bruce Irons gets free pads.
The sticky stuff is all the same. Freak didnt come up with some proprietary glue. They just chose from the same options provided by multi nationals that everyone else does. Generally speaking, they use the exact same adhesive. All pads come up over time. ALL. Kids who say that "this one sticks the best" generally dont have a clue and are repeating something they heard which no doubt can be traced back to a marketing slogan.
I have nothing against any pad company. Just calling it like I see it.

aaron you are a scholar and got right to the point and made it good..
and i agree with what you said...astro does outsell everyone..and they feel the most comfortable under your feet...
and the way the pad sticks has alot to do with how you prep your board...
texture/non texture finish and sanding it, and letting it sit for 24 hours...all factors on how well the pad sticks
