I was pretty pissed that I didnt go to sebastian after looking at the cams, but it turned out to be really fun at port everglades. Plus I saw a bullshark(think it was a bull), 2 tarpon, and a manatee.

Yes jake, i magically took a picture of myself skimming. I set the auto timer exactly, then hurled the camera into the air to catch me at just the right moment.

The thing about that is, it wasnt breaking at all, it was completley flat anywhere south of Boca. But at Port Everglades theres some type of underwater rock formation and when the big boats pass by, which is like every 10 minutes, their wake hits the rocks and reforms by the jetty into what you see. Also about 100 feet up the beach it turns into a pointbreak and makes really long lines.

Looks fun. Those tarpon have been everywhere off the beach down in Venice. I saw a few huge pods when I was skimming last Fri. and we went out and landed three the next day and jumped one other one.

I was skimming, but I wanted to get some pics so I could be cool and make a topic. I'm not really sure how it works, I think the rocks make it like a reef break and hollow out the waves but its close to shore so they dont break until they get to shore.

i know what u mnean by "doesnt break", same thing happenes in my city sometimes, its SO annoying i see a nice wave, go out, and am like "where the wave go" and it breaks a litttle right on shore (not enough to even put down)

but its still pretty fun trying to get on it
