I tried to wrap a wave a bit too late and got tossed at the top and the water I landed in was really shallow.

consider yourself lucky, my brother did the same thing last time i went skimming, except he got launched a good 7 feet, landed in shallow water, and fractured his scapula (shoulder blade)

try rippin open your palm on a broken off peice of reaf. having a half inch gash and beikng like 3 inches long, like this but more of a cut and deeper, and trying to have it heal , cuase your hands heal the least fast and your always using them

ive done that once. ended up rippin the stiches out early so i could catch the next comin groundswell. wasnt to well thought of tho, cause i ended up with an infection.

I broke my wrist trying to 360 before getting to a wave, ala trying to be a professional....rail caught a ripple or small wash and I fell on my wrist all jacked a couple summers ago. Broke my wrist. Atleast that didn't happen.

Pretty gnar gash though...pictures always dull out wounds, bet it looks gross in person.

it aint kno birdman shit, but i thought it was pretty cool when it happend.
you cant really see it, but theres a shell lodged into my lower palm underneath the skin. the doctor had fun gettin that out.
