I saw this off the back and decided not to let people get ripped off. go to your local best buy and you can get this for the same price, On black friday + today(sat) we sold this thing for $340. and to answer the Brand question. They are a fairly new brand and have been producing some POS items. Although I have never had one of these DvD players returned. One of there best.

yeah. i didn't want to say anything to steal this guy's steam....but dual makes a pretty shitty product. this is by far their best dvd unit though. it's not going to perform like an eclipse, but for 350$, it's a good deal.

I'm not familiar with this product but what on earth?? Where the heck do you plug it into???

BBSkimer
11-26-2006, 07:22 AM
IT replaces your headunit(cd player) in your car. the Screen stays to look like a regular player then flips out to be a dvd player. with ithink a 6.5" or 7" display. They also come with a cool lil aux jack on 4' long cord for your mp3/ipod stuff.

if you want something good and easy to get id suggest geting an Alpine double dinn, or one of the Pioneer flip outs. Navi system and such is a big bonus. (duals arnt capable of navi)

Doesnt Black Friday = serious sales though. I dont know for sure, I'm just saying. Not that I need/want one but its $500.00 at crutchfield and he's giving you shipping. Also, they are out of stock at crutchfield, so obviously somebody's been buying them???

also you should include that this won't fit in all vehicles without an adapter. so if you have a spaced out stock head unit, don't expect to be able to buy this and just automatically mount it into your dash without an adapter.

all they will need is a new wireharness + Dashkit (but only if you have a Double/Triple din console)

what u mean sam?

like for example: in my tacoma, my stock head unit has a screen, and the buttons are spaced out over a wide area. when i installed my new head unit, i had to order an adapter like this one:

otherwise, the headunit wouldn't fit into my dash. my stock head unit looks like this:

Someone was telling me it's illegal to have a dvd player running in the front seat. A distraction to the driver while driving... unless it's between the two front seats. I don't know if it's true or not. I think it's silly to have one. You drive a car. You don't drive and watch t.v. Sorry, but it sounds ridiculous to me to have it sitting in front of me while driving.

ZapBulletRider

I agree. My wife wants to get one for the back seat for my daughter. I'm thinking fuck that, give her a book.

im pretty sure you're right lady. someone told me that on all the dvd player hook ups, theres a wire that connects that doesnt let you watch while your car is driving. but i guess everyone just disconnects that part.

i bought it cause i always find my self sitting at school for long periods of time waiting for my next class to start, and for my girlfriend whilst i drive.

talk to her ted... it does wonders haha.

why are you selling it then?

I just asked my husband and he said it's actually illegal to have one in the state of Va. It's okay to have them in the back seat. But not in the front. They look cool though. Just get a portable DVD player that hooks on the back of the backseat. I've got one but I don't use it in the car. It is nice to watch it while waiting though.

yeah, it's illegal. the wire connects to your parking brake sensor. when the car is in park, or the parking brake is applied, you can play dvds. this can be fixed in various ways though...you can ground the wire that connects to your parking sensor on any ground bolt, and it will allow you to play dvds whenever you want to. also, when you're driving, if you put a little bit of pressure on your parking brake with your foot, but not enough to completely brake the car, you can start a dvd and release the brake. the dvd will keep playing. i don't know why it does this, because if you start a dvd in park it shuts off the second you put the car in drive/reverse.

Whit - it's not illegal in the back seat. it's just illegal in the dash. i like the idea of having a fold down unit from the ceiling, and i also like the new things they've come out with that strap to headrests for purposes of kids in the back seat. as far as a screen in the dash though, the primary reason that i have one is because i want the navigation system as well. my unit is a double din nav system/dvd player.

thats what I was looking at getting, I don't like the idea of the LCD hanging off of the dash, I'd break that so quick

samcollett
11-29-2006, 03:34 PM
not only that, but in my truck the flip screen sits up too high. cops can't see the double din from behind me like they could see a flip screen, so if i'm playing a dvd people behind me won't have a rear view of it.

I believe it is Pioneer (could be wrong on the brand, but someone defenitily makes this) that instead of using a wire like Sam was describing, they actually have a bubble with liquid inside of it that acts as a level. If the level is not at a constant level, i.e. the car is in motion, then the dvd portion will not work...

yes, some pioneer units have that feature, but if you ground the wire that transmits the signal from the level to the huc, the level circuit closes and you can play a dvd whenever you want to.
