just do tons of contests and get really really good. then getting sponsored should be easy. easier said than done however, so get out there everyday and just go big and eventually you'll get there.

If you look at it from a business perspective, I don't think most companies would want to sponsor someone that doesn't compete, or that isn't very good. For them it's an investment in a way because they're compensating you for repping them. Therefore, they want to make good investments on good riders who rip!

you just have to do a Jesus Spin to 540 shuv wrap 3 shuv out to shack and you'll get sponsored, just make sure you get shacked, its all about getting shacked because shacks stack up when you keep getting shacked

Nah....I always prefer to skim in ankle deep wax personally...that way you stick all airs without having to grab rails. WAY easier.

So why does everyone want to be on a team, free boards?
If that's the only reason, companies don't want you. They want someone who likes the way their boards ride, who will represent their company in a positive way, and someone who is a very good skimmer too. You don't need to win every contest, although it wouldn't hurt. Also, it might help to send a skim video and don't start out your letter by saying, Dear Skim Company, put their name on the letter making it personal so it doesn't sound like you sent out a hundred emails to every skim company. Of course, this is my opinion.
