View Full Version : Need Music for Portuguese Skimboard Video

Hey, i have the footage, i've been editing it with some known music from bands who have record contracts, the video will be about 30- 45 minutes.

the problem is, i've made some contacts with the Extreme Channel Portugal, and they said they would be interested in broadcasting the video, the only problem was that if i used some music from bands with record contracts, i would have to pay the record companies, since i'm broke, i can't do that.

So my video has gone from 80% to 10%.

What do i need? simple. I need some good songs, from garage bands, from your grandmother singing, stuff you or your friends made, something with a kick some music you think would look good in a skimboarding video.

So if anyone is interested in having their or their friend's music in my video, just send an email with an .mp3 or .wav and a written text giving me the right to use your music in my video, to: skimportugal@gmail.com

i'll listen to anything, i won't guarantee it will go on the video, but just send me stuff and then i'll make a selection.

p.s. of course in the movie credits your name(or the name of the band) and song will appear.

i wouldn't really worry about using mainstream songs without permission.

Yeah but Extreme Channel isn't going to run it with illegal use of the songs, then they are liable. I suggest you find out whether they will really run it or not, before you scrap it.

what some people have done in the past is release a video with whatever music they see fit, and then they cut down a highlight reel with approved music for broadcast.

derek, i need some explaining on that "higlight reel" shit... how does that work.

by the way, thanks for the people who have already sent me some music, but i want more, the more i have to choose from, the better it will go.

deuz I can probably get permission for you to use any Rancid or Lars Frederikson and the Bastards songs if you want...

i just mean that they recut some of their best footage from the movie into a shorter segment, that they edit to music they have approval to use.

thanks, but it's too experimental for what i have in mind, it lacks a good rythm, and a good beat.

good luck with the band anyways.
