Damn man. I watched it expecting it to be some lame sponsor me video but that was really sick. I'm definitely not the best person to be answering really, but I guess if you're looking to really "get sponsored" or whatever, throw a couple more tech tricks in the next video. Don't take this as bashing your video or anything...I was just giving you some ideas cause no one else had said anything yet.

Again...sick video...lots of style. Too many people forget about style....see 1:21.

get some good contests results under your belt to help get noticed and be a nice person, if you do that you should have no problem finding a board sponsor

board, just broke mine and they aint cheap!lol i skim alot so i guess i wear em' out fast. even a discount would help out alot! ive sent my vid to zap but got no response. i am sponsored by a local surf shop and i get a discount but not much...

gotta treat it like a college app mane...send that shit to every board company you can think of and dont just rely on 2 or 3. even if they arent the best company in the world or your favorite, you gotta start somewhere.

More tech and work harder on frontside... The backside wraps look clean but the ratio was way off. Frontsides werent bad either but could be cleaner if ur trying to get sponsored.

well skimming better will help you get sponsored, so technically speaking dan is right
Another huge part is getting yourself a lot of exposure. Make videos of yourself very frequently, get shots in foreverskim and such. Companies want someone with a lot of exposure so u can expose their boards/product.

If youre hoping to get sponsored through your videos you might want to add tech and frontside... no ones going to sponsor a kid who only goes backside. Thats my point. And compete... duh.

Yeah.......that's good^ But I hate it when someone sends me a sponsor me letter & video and starts the letter out by something like dear sirs (not dear J.Gordon Skimboards) if you don't put their company name down, it looks like you sent out hundreds of letters and just want a free board and you don't care who you ride for. Also the thing you guys have to remember is........most companies already have a good team and don't really need anyone else.:(

the vids wer just to try and get my foot in the door and myb get some help getting to contest's to get exposure. but seeing all the drama on this site kinda makes me sick, do you know how to delete account?

Very true Jim. I would hope that anyone serious and dedicated wouldn't mass spam companies with generic context like that. But, like you said, I'm sure you and other companies do get them all the time.

And as far as most companies having a good team already, well, isn't that true in any sport? Unless it's a small team that isn't well known. And even the best riders in skimboarding can end up leaving a team at any moment. Just from reading the forum lately, you can see teams have been changing. Whether it be due to good or bad things, you just never know what can happen and what opportunities might come out of no where. No matter how good anyone's team is, they will inevitably change. What's the harm in being ready for that chance? I don't know anything about being sponsored by anyone from experience, but I have the same hope some day as well as most of the people on this forum who really want to progress. So I just don't think anyone should ever be discouraged just because all the major skimboard companies have great teams already.
