If we stopped poluting our oceans, sea life wouldn't be so pissed off.

This is such a perfect example of the media taking a story and blowing it way the fuck out of proportion.

For people that dont know. Rays jump. They jump often and high. Ive seen two jump this year just while skimming.

Sometimes they jump and a boat is there. That is what happend in this situation. Then the boater tried to pick up the ray and throw him back in the water. The ray stung the shit out of him.

If it wasnt for the croc hunters tragic death this would not even have made the news.

End.

Spotted Eagle Rays are not that common either. Its amazing I have seen them jump too, just not right onto a boat? I bet they messed with him first or got way too close and freaked the animal out a little.

I've seen a ton of Manta's breach offshore (and a few from the beach), but I don't think I recall seeing it much from other types of (FL East Coast) rays.

We were offshore about 40 miles early one morning (no land in sight), the water was incredible still and we had a huge manta (must have been 8-10ft across) completely clear the water about 30 feet from the boat. It was goddam incredible, scary, aweing all at the same time! (I had to rinse out my undies...)

Definitely a little sensationalism given what happened to Steve Irwin - but unbelievably coincidental given that just happened and the location of the injury.

Hey, the wifey and I pickup our garbage AND other shit we find on the beach - we should get badges to wear around our necks that say "Ocean Friend - Hostile Sea Life Please Ignore"

I am sure this the step 1 in their plan to control the world.
