I was listening to Flux Pavilion's tracks on soundcloud and I got to some that were like 3 years old and they're under his real name, an it's just singer-songwriter type soft guitar music, totally not what I was expecting. The sets were good, it was Aetgy, Brown and Gammon, Cookie Monsta, and Flux. I would say out of the four I enjoyed Cookie Monsta's the least, but it was still good. Aetgy was surprisingly good as was B&G. The show was long as frack, started a little after 8 and we didn't get out of there til after 1:30. Left there drenched and had to make an emergency Denny's pit stop to chug some sweet tea and eat hash browns.

Yea, AETGY plays all the time at the bars down at the Oceanfront, I've seen him a few times. He's got a huge local fanbase. He's pretty good at mixing, but as far as I know, he doesn't really produce, which seems a bit odd to me. I always thought if you start to really get into DJing and get regular gigs, you kind of transition into producing. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

Bummed I had to miss out :(, I wish Steez would bring more of these types of shows to the NorVa. Too many crappy rock/metal/shit shows going on now. I guess I'll just have to save the cash and head up to Identity Fest in July if I want to see anything good electro this summer.

Back in 2000/2001 timeframe there was this chick in my comp sci program at UNC who stood out like a sore thumb (kind of like I did, but in a different way) because she wasn't boring or asian. She dressed like a typical raver chick, which you didn't see very often at UNC, huge pants, tight tank tops, hair pulled up in all these multiple buns almost like princess leia. Unfortunately she wasn't hot in the face but something about her was intriguing. Anyway we got stuck on some project together in a class and I ended up over at her house to work on it and she was like "do you like Jungle?" and I'm like "i fracking love the jungle"(actually I have no idea what I said). Then she proceeded to put on some music that sounded crazy to me at the time but really cool. Wish I could go back now that I appreciate jungle b/c I'm sure she went to some good shows back then...
