some "hot water" like 40C will doe the trick for every type of wax...

then use some paint cleaner...

whipe it clean and it should do the trick...

ps: use a wax comb to remove most of it before using the paint cleaner and cloth...

Scrape, with a comb or ID, until there is hardly anything left, and to get rid off the residue just buff with a lint free cloth. It's really not that difficult. It can be done while watching your favorite skim movie.

Omi one what do we always say "Set it and....."

"Forget it!!!"

or you could just put it in to sun for 15 minutes and then wipe it off...

Its really hard to get wax off a textured board i had so much trouble i sanded wiped with many different cleaners blow dried. And my pad is coming up now because of it

Just keep tea-bagging it until the wax or your nuts fall off.

If you have a textured board, and you want to put pads on it, you will have to sand any way, so sand that bitch set the pad and forget it.
How was that for my first infomercial?

Put your board in the sun for like 5 mins and scrape off the wax with a credit card then wipe off the residue with a paper towel then take it inside and use rubbing alcohol on a cloth to clean where the pad will go.

the best I've found is similar to what silky said but instead let the wax get hot, then sprinkle sawdust all over and rub it off w/ a cloth. It all gathers together on the cloth and it comes off instantly. It's the same concept as "The Pickle" but free. Then if you really need it clean, use rubbing alcohol afterwards.

Yeah, but if you do this too many times you have potential for sun damaging your board, happened with my old board...

for 5 mins? Dude if your board can't take sun for 5 mins every once in a while, what exactly is going on when you skim?

No, not what I mean, if you repeatedly do it, over and over, and just let it sit there in direct sunlight, I dont just sit there for five minutes still when Im skimming..... bah, maybe i just dont know what Im talking about and Im just ranting... you decide..but this is what has been told to me.

I let it melt in the sun and take some sort of plastic card I never use like my old school ID card and take it off with that. After that I use Goo-Gone to get the last of the wax that is a thin film off. Hair dryer is faster but can warp the board.

i use the sun light for about 7 or 8 minutes and then scrape off with a wax comb or some kind of id card like silky skim sayed and on the area where your puttin your arch bar, cleanse with rubbing acohol on a rag or some cotton balls

get a glass of warm water, not too hot but warm enough to get the wax soft and gooey, then put the board on something so it is level, pour some of the warm water on, and just scrape it with an id card or wax comb, just keep adding more water as the water on the board cools or runs off

i do that with my old board because it is polyester resin which is more prone to warping, epoxy is supposed to be more resistant to damage due to heat, so i usually let my epoxy board sit in the sun for a few minutes or use a hairdryer on a light setting

just let it sit in the sun for 15 or 20 minutes and scrape the wax off with a credit card or wax comb then use a paper towel and paint thinner to get the rest off before you put any pads on it
