Hello dear Portuguese skimmers,
I have just reached Estoril now, after having tried some spots all around Portugal. We started from Porto and drove to Espinho, where there where some nice waves to skim. Unfortunately I did not find the sider, but it was still good for skimming.
Right after that we went to San Pedro de Moel, where the waves were very big and strong, varying from chest to head high, even overhead, but I didnt dare to catch those as I suck at skimming.
Then we went to Sesimbra, where there was a ot of wind and no waves at all yesterday. I also tried Bicas Beach, where the shorebreak was good, but too windy, same as Foz beach. We didnt go to Lago de Albufeira, because I thought the wind would be also too strong there.
All in all I think that POrtugal is a great place with verz nice and friendly people, most of them speak english, wich makes it quite easy for tourists.
Now that we are in Estoril, I would like to know, if some of you colud tell me how to get exactly to the good spots. I also would like to take the sider in Paco de Arcos, but when I jumped out of the car, i only saw some rocks and the beach, but could not locate the wonderful sider. But it is also low tide as far as I could see. We wil stay at least two nights, so there should be enough time to skim after visiting Sintra.
I would really appreciate, if someone could tell me, where to find the sider in Paco de Arcos and some other good spots nearby. Could some one also tell me when low tide and high tide is exactly?
Many thanks in advance and sorry for writing so much. Portugal is a paradise for Skimboarding, thats for sure!
Saludos,
chico
