SAWA is proud to announce details of the upcoming 2010 Anzac Weekend Skim Contest.

Event will be held on 1 full day over the Anzac weekend (it will depend on conditions). As usual heats will commence at 8.30am sharp on the designated day. Open to all levels from beginner to advanced and there will plenty of great prizes on the day.

Entry fee is $5 for SAWA members & $15 for non-members. We are also in the process of having the shirts printed for the 2010 SAWA members.

It's set to be an awesome event and heaps of fun. Make sure you get down there and extend the invite to all your friends and family.

Comp Update - Final week preparations
Hi guys...just a quick update to let you all know the deal as far as this weekends comp goes.

We will determine the DAY of the comp this thursday. Everyone will be notified by thursday evening which day the comp will be held on.

Once we know the day, we will determine the LOCATION 24 hours prior to the comp day (for example - if comp is held on the sunday, we will notify you of the location no later than 8.30am saturday morning - most likely friday night though). Event will be held at a beach between Swanbourne and North Floreat.

The heats and timings will be determined on the day once we know how many riders we have.

We have also decided to progress the top riders from 2009 to the 2nd round to ensure everyone gets a good go and the heats are more fairly represented (basically so beginners/intermediates aren't knocked out by Ell & Al in the first heat). The actual number of riders automatically qualifying for round 2 will be determined once we know how many competitors there are total.

We are going to have 2 sections in this years comp - Open Division and Combined Intermediate Division (incorporating Juniors). There are some great prizes this year thanks to our awesome sponsors - Check the flyer above for all the sponsors.

Comp opens from 8.00am - get down early to fill in forms etc.

Heats start 8.30am sharp - this is really important to ensure we get the best of the conditions

Depending on numbers - comp should finish up around lunchtime (1pm ish) where we are having a BBQ and awards - everyone welcome

We are also planning to have a range of other activities at the beach like cricket, football, soccer etc as well as the banshee bungee set up for everyone to have fun on between heats...
