Yesterday I was at shell beach, SLO and I hit a rock that was stciking in the sand. It was out were the water was a little deeper and I couldn't see it. Well now I have an inch long chip next to rail on the bottom of my board. I was wondering if I need to put fiber glass over it and fill it or if I could just fill it with suncure or something.

Yea fiberglassing it would probably be the best option or you could fill it with suncure and sand it down for a more temporary fix

Yeah, sorry about the pics. I think I am going to use some fiber glass. I would just take it to a shop to do it, but I don't know where any are in my area.

try calling azhiaziam surf shop in los osos, they have a store in town at foothill and santa rosa, but i dont think they do any repairs there, im pretty sure they do at the los osos shop, although i could be wrong
a bit of advice if you do it yourself, i did a lot of suncure repairs on my old shitty board and it wears pretty fast, save yourself the trouble of having to do it over again and use polyester resin, ding all makes polyester resin repair kits that would work perfect for that, i think they might be a few bucks more then the ding all suncure kit but its worth it

Thanks for all your help. I had no idea that ccs and azhiaziam did repairs. I will probaly just take it to one of them just because I don't really want to have to mess with it and since its not to much more for them to do it why not?

No one single repair will cost you around $25. A pint of UV resin will cost you around $20. a yard of Eglass $3.75 a .75 spreader and a couple sheets sand paper 80,150,220 for $4.00 would be under $30.00 and you could learn to fix your own board. You have a good board to learn on. Ultra's rails crack alot....

I guess it would be worth to buy the supplies and do it myself because if I get anymore dings I will be saving money. I am completly confident that I could fix it my self, so I probaly will do it. Do most hardware stores sell resin and cloth or do I need to go to a special marine store?

surf shops sell ding-all repair kits, that would probably be cheaper and easier then going out and buying everything seperately, and will last you for at least a couple repairs, they should only cost $10-15
