i stripped an old broken longboard and made this. Its 54" by 20" and about 1 1/2" thick. the other boards my old vic fomie vac, 2002 i think. the board rides 1000x better than my vic, its not too fast but i floats like non other, so if i get to a wave with absolutly no speed, i can still wrap it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v218/doom55555/newskim1.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v218/doom55555/newskim2.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v218/doom55555/newskim3.jpg

i dont know the exact weight but it feels about a pound lighter than my vic, my guess 4.5 lbs. It turns really well, a lot nicer than i expected. I was wrapping (acually wrapping) ankle high waves when i tryed it out the other day.

oh, also theres about 3 1/4" of nose rocker and about 1/4" of tail. The boards prolly not going to last too long because theres a lot of glassing flaws in it ( its my first board, and working with fiberglass is a bitch) but my next board going to be perfection, i got glassing down to a science now.

That's sick as hell....how fast is it compared to your vic...i.e. does it keep speed fairly well?

yes that is a stringer, since its from a longboard the stringers 1/4" thick. my boards super stiff. ive never tested the flex with carbon, so i couldnt really compare it to that though

that looks pretty sick, me and my buddies had that idea back when i lived in slo but we never got around to it, seems like it would be a lot of fun to screw around on, im gonna have to see if i can find a cheap old longboard on craigslist to try that with, how long did it take you to make that thing?

of an on, 3 weeks, all i shaped it with is a hand surffoarm, sandpaper and a ruler. most of the shaping was making the bottom of the board flat and srtipping the previous glass off of it. glassing it took about a week with all the layers, but you could prolly do it in about 3 or 4

i always wondered if a surfboard could be turned into a skimboard
nice job that would have taken some effort
