all it is, is action, the plot never really unfolds and i really think it could have been alot better
I dont want to spoil it, but I wasnt pleased with the way they treated the... development of some of the characters.

That, plus the extra scene after the credits leave the door open for a sequel.

best part of that entire movie:
"don't you know who i am?! IM THE JUGGERNAUT, BITCH!!!!
me and a handful of people in the theater laughed our asses off at that part because we knew what it was from, and i thought the fact that they threw that line in the movie is a million times funnier then that cartoon thing ever was

SPOILER ALERT. Way to blow it three days after the movie comes out, slick.
they introduce a black man when xaiver is in the room talking to his students who was apparently paralyzed and in a hospital bed, and at the end of all the credits the black man talks to the lady and he sounds exactly like xavier, so i guess hes in his body now
and the movie is ruined. that's why I said PM

Prof. X living is what happens after the credits... in the early part of the movie, Prof. X is showing his class a video from Moira MacTaggert, a geneticist and old friend of Prof X's. the video shows her telling about a braindead patient who's organs still function, some shit like that. and at the end of the film, the patient wakes up and says "Hello, Moira" and Moira says, "Charles?"

*spolier*
the kid's power's don't last forever. notice how beast goes back to blue after walking away.. same concept. it's just magneto took the dna when he got poked by the needles. eventually it wears off. mystique is back to normal eventually too. and charles isn't inside the paralyzed dude.. he's just talkin through him, kinda using him like a host. if you ever saw the cartoons/read comics, prof. xis in that space world with lilandra.

they said in the movie that jean grey was the only level 5 they had ever found, and that one chick says magneto is above a level 3, so im guessing he is level 4 along with xavier, and the guy that moira had in her care wasnt paralyzed, im pretty sure they said that he had been born the way he was and that he had no consciousnes, his organs just operated the way they should, making him an empty shell that xavier could use
the end was a little confusing, i thought i saw the chess piece twitch a little bit, but they did say that the cure was permanent, and it could just be to show how shitty life is for magneto now, since he was such a bastard, the director, actors, and studio are adamantly denying any plans for anymore x-men movies
whoever started this thread really should change the name of the thread to warn people that there are spoilers in here

yea well i wish i had stayed for the end of the credits, but its a pretty interesting concept that he could inhabit the body. though i see no reason why he would want to come back now that everything looks fine.

SHit, why the hell do they put stuff after the credits. When I watched it, people started walking out as soon as they showed the grave stones. Most people didnt even see the magneto part, and I missed the after credits part.
P.s. I didnt really see the chess piece move, Im thinking the same as didj, they showed it so it could be like "haha bitch, no more metal moving for you."

all you people who didn't see the chess piece move,
a) you are EXTREMELY unattentive
b) you obviously don't understand movies, b/c otherwise what would have been the purpose of the scene?
c) you fall into the same category as the guy behind me when I was walking out talking to his friend: "Oh, it twitched?? I didn't see it!" And I was joking the shit out of him. I honestly thought he had to be the only person who didn't get that.

It could have had 2 purposes though. The one I was talking about, how it was like "ha bitch, no powers for you, and was more of a funny ending with a lonely man playing chess by himself"
Or, it could have twitched and gave the idea for an X men 4.
I didnt see it move, too bad, I wasnt that crazy about the movie, and as I said, about half the people in the theathre were already walking out by then, so it was harder to see what was going on...

Sorry but how the hell could it mean "no powers for you." When I saw it, it appeared to me as if he still either had some power or he was gaining it back. That is the main reason its placed EXACTLY where it was placed.

for the record, yes magneto's power's are returning. in case you didn't know they are making a magneto movie.. it would be pretty shitty if he had no powers for it.

the main thing that keeps me wondering about their intention with that last scene was the fact that the day before i saw it i had heard the director and the actors insisting that there are not going to be any sequels, if i hadnt of heard that, then im sure i would have thought the chess piece moved for sure and would be expecting another sequel, i think i saw the chess piece move, but id have to see it again
i can understand the logic that since the kids powers didnt permanently affect the people he came into contact with that the cure would not be permanent, but the kids powers have a range, if you stood next to him forever your powers would be gone forever, what they did was base a cure off of his powers that would fix the mutation of the DNA, so it doesnt necesarily mean that the cure isnt permanent just because you had to stand within 10 feet of the kid to stay non-mutant
also, rogue and mystique were given the cure long before magneto, and their powers had not come back, although you could argue that magneto is more powerful then them, but dont forget magneto got a triple dose
i cant believe i rambled on this long about x-men 3, i think the real purpose of that scene was to cause endless controversey among nerds on internet message boards, so mission accomplished

..there's no clear cut timeframe for when that little scene with magneto happens.

the fact that the directors said there wasn't going to be a sequel means absolutely nothing whatsoever. Or have you not been paying attention to the entertainment industry?
didj prophet
05-31-2006, 12:07 PM
im aware that there is no clear cut time frame, and the only importance i see in the fact that they are denying a sequel is that if they were planning a sequel, it would definitely mean that magneto's powers were coming back
my whole point in that post was that it could go either way, to say it meant his powers are definitely coming back is as unfounded as saying his powers are gone forever, for all we know 3 doses wasnt quite enough to "fully" cure him and he still has the power to make chess pieces twitch but thats it
and yes, unfortunately i have been paying attention to the entertainment industry, which keeps getting lamer everyday and seems only able to make sequels, remakes and spinoffs nowadays, which reminds me, instead of sequels to x-men, wolverine and magneto are going to have their own movies coming out, but magnetos will be a prequel

they announced another xmen movie the DAY this one came out. noobs.
and yes the chess piece moved, magneto is back.
and yes xavier is in the comatose guys body.
and they are making movies specifically for individual characters.

ok then, i would love to see some verification of this "announced" x-men 4, seeing as within a day of a movie being announced it is on IMDB.com, and IMDB.com doesnt have any more x-men movies listed, while it does have the wolverine and magneto spin-off's listed
i'm not ruling out x-men 4, lord knows that studios change their minds from time to time, but to claim it has been announced with nothing to back it up is, well, a little "noob-ish"
.......noob.
