Those weren't even close to all the good waves but do somewhat reflect the conditions. Last year had a few more marquee waves but there were entire heats on Saturday with absolutely nothing for waves and alot of Sunday was unmanageable. This year every single heat all weekend long had good waves. Not only waves but every heat had primary, secondaries and wraps. Toby had 8 in&outs over the 2 days and beaker went completely ballistic on Sunday.

IMO this year blew away last year. It was consistent for 2 days straight with good waves for every heat. Exactly what every contest director prays for.

They're screening at the Cabo airport but have yet to stop a single person due to being sick. (I heard you need a fever in excess of 102) There is no swine flu in Cabo, nor was there ever a chance of it developing here. It's a desert environment that has been 95 or hotter everyday since the virus was discovered in mainland. Flu season was over here a long time ago.

Right when i was leaving is when ppl started showing up cause they figured out that the swine flu is not a threat at all. Its not even a check, they put a piece of paper infront of you and ask you to read it AFTER YOU GET OFF THE PLANE IN AMERICA. So its not something that would/should keep you from cabo or missing you flight, kook.

dude i was in cabo from march 25 through April 1st. Literally right before all the the swine flu shit hit the fan. was with a group in excess of 15 people and no one got sick and no one will. as wardo said its a desert enviroment. the chances of it happening are slim to none. you would probably have to make out with someone who had it to have a chance at getting it. if i had the money and a place to stay right now i would be on the next plane down there

When top Pro's go to contests that require them to travel they usually have thier biggest expenses (airfare, hotel) taken care of. Now when an official skimboarding contest is cancelled for whatever reason, it does the sponsor(s) no good to send their riders to that event. So no, they did not bitch out, the Pro's probably would have loved to go but did not want to pay out of pocket on such short notice.
