I'm too lazy to do a POD so I'm going to do a Weekly Media Dose instead and try to keep it up for all of 2009. I'll also try to mix it up with the occasional mini-vid or slideshow and welcome any contributions to the thread.

I'm going to start it off with 2 pics of Steve Miller I recently posted that I had to recycle. I've shot skimboarding pictures at 43 of the World's best breaks since yet this is still the memorable session(s) I've ever witnessed. For 3 days in 05 the Wall was truely worldclass with Steve Miller, Joey Vavala & Justin Frymann trading perfect waves the whole time.

September 28th, 2007 stands out as being one of the only times that logging on to Myspace wasn't a waste of my time. That evening I got a dozen messages that Solmar was firing and to get down there. 16 hours later I arrived to the glassiest Solmar I had ever seen. Unfortunately a tropical depression formed off the coast over night and took 20 feet of sand with it but I ended up with about 4 minutes of STH from that 2 hour session and the stormy wraps the next day.

from what I can tell, he was trying to perform a move similar to a surfing layback turn, where the rider pushes the board ahead of them and out from under their center of gravity, hopefully recovering the board after. A lot of times in surfing, guys will even have their back foot come off (looks like they are kicking their board away). it's a lot easier on a surfboard than a skimboard.
