I was wondering what licence you have to get to ride a scooter on the street. It is a 49cc Yamaha Zuma. M1, M2, or M3.
cheers

You can get by with a regular liscence, but legally you need the most basic motorcycle liscence, or permit. I dont know what order it goes in m1-m3 or what but you just need the smallest one.

and you can take a written test to get the permit for it at least, maybe even the liscence. pretty dope.

scooters nowadays are sounding sweet, get up to 40+ mph and 70-80 mpg...anyone know of any good ones?

i dont think you need one in california but i could be wrong. i know for sure its not an M1 though cuz i have an M1 license and i remember seeing a seperate M class license other than M1 for scooters. if you get a hardcore scooter like the suzuki burgman 450cc or burgman 650cc then you need an M1.

yea thats what I heard is that all you have to do is take a written test. That would be amazing.

50cc ...they max out at like 45, but they're fun to moto around town. gas mileage is like 100mpg (literally).

rob, under 50cc you don't need a M license. it is considered a motorized bicycle. all you need is a regular drivers license and helmet.

According to Dumb and Dumber you do not need a M lisence to drive one cause they just picked one up and went cross country with it

In Florida all you need is your...E?? lisence I believe, ans that is your learner's permit for a car. I believe that that's it, and will be super pissed if its not.

In Florida, as long as you are under 50cc, you only need a regular motor vehicles license, and a registered plate for the scooter.
I went and rented one with my GF about 6 months ago. We rode around St. Augustine for two hours and when we went to fill it back up after we were done it was only 76 cents, premium gas. I was looking at a Vento scooter before, they have really nice features.

i just bought a honda ruckus. 49cc scooter same thing as the zuma basically. all you need is a normal license and you need to get liability insurance ($150/year)

The only thing thats gay about scooters is how you have to sit you have to sit with your legs together straight up and if you happen to see someone and wave then you look super gay

Unless.... You ride it like this

how are they on pollution? i know the fuel use is low but do they kick out a proportionally low amount of smog? no partially unburned fuel clouds?

not a substantial amount. they are two stroke engines, but are oil injected rather than pre-mixed (cleaner burning).

....rob, they will send you your plates after you purchase the bike from the dealer.

theres a '03 zuma here for 950 bucks........ with 10 small bottles of nitrous oxide......

I have for sale a silver 2003 Yamaha Zuma 50 scooter. no need for a motorcycle license. recent 70cc hi performance top end, cf reeds, variator, springs belt and clutch upgraded in the last couple months. Carb rebuilt 2 weeks ago. Top speed somewhere north of 45 mph. I fill it up about 1.5 times a month if I ride it everyday (1.3 gallon tank) It comes with brand new plastics, gas tank, plus tons of new spares (handlebars, grab bars, mirrors, etc). still pretty quiet.

Needs nothing. Ultra reliable. electric start with backup kick start

It is on newish Pirelli sticky street rubber (not the stock semi knobbies) very grippy.

Will include Nitrous oxide kit with about 10 full canisters never installed

Got to move.

$950obo

hmmmmmmmm
