anyone have any idea how much it would be to rent a decent to crappy 1 bedroom apartment in cabo for one or two months this summer and how much stuff (food, beer) costs there compared to california.

To give you an idea i have like a grand for the summer and id be sharing the apartment with a friend.

1 grand = hell no.
im probably just as picky about things as you are too. when i have a tight budget and want to travel i go as far as to sleep in my car, take showers on the provided rinse off showers (at night) and eat mcdonalds.thats only for a couple weeks at most. if you want a month or two you will need more than a grand if your thinking of beer and something besides mcdonalds everyday. but i guess anythings possible depending how strict your willing to go.

well how much do you think rent for a one bedroom would be maybe 600 a month. two people sharing so thats 300 each a month. that would leave 700 for utilities and food. if we only stayed a month or 400 if we stayed two months.

and im perfectly fine with cheap ass mexican food and mcdonalds everyday.

i guess you are splitting it with a freind which makes it more realistic but no matter what, you will end up spending more than you originallly planned. its those times when you think oh i guess i could get a little more of this or one more dish or just this small souvenier that are going to add up and get you.but if you only stay for a month and are splitting the cost than it would be possible to do it. just dont go through a case of miller every night.

yeah i definitely understand we cant be going out and be getting souvenirs and eating nice meals....we are going to skim and pretty much plan on living on fast food and cheap beer.

Mcdonalds is expensive down there. Id say 1500 would be ok between 2 people so 3k total. Its easy to spend 400 dollars a week down there. Food really isnt that cheap unless you find a good taco stand like Gardenias. I think with just a 1000 bucks it might be a little far fetched hope someone can wire some cash if you get low.
