Last year was sick and this year should be awesome. The beach has some of the best shore break I've ever seen this year. I will also be working something out with a local camp ground to house out of towners.

sean did you check the tides? the high isnt until like 6 so we're gonna be squeezed to get all the heats in unless we run late right? actually that might be really cool to have a sunset ish final.

And anybody who wants to come up and participate if places to stay are preventing you from coming there are a couple camping areas and also some of us have houses where we can pack a bunch of people in tents/on the floor if all else fails there are a couple little cheap motels/inns right near the contest area

yeah, we want as many people to come out as possible. last year the conditions werent the greatest, but the beach also looked nothing like it does now.

i vote to move it to nauset main

reasons (discussed with several reckless members)
1. less rocks
2.more spectator volume and appreciation
3. a full 30 minutes closer to anywhere not on the cape (i.e. greater boston area RI and any other place travelers might be journeying from)
4.more places for people to stay close to contest site
5.the only reason to have it at whitecrest is you have to pass olaf's shop which is legit for his better advertisement but the above reasons out weigh

alright yeah i didnt have much hope i just thought i would place my suggestion.
hows sponsor status looking? i recommend trying to plug square they need a little but more east coast exposure and would probably be willing to help out some (they gave a board to a couple florida comps)

yeah seriously.... And guys lacounts has the best liners ever.... There is a huge slope that sticks out like 40 ft and the waves start on that point and break all the way to the guard tower.... Its like west coast liner style you literally go parallel with the wave and start riding...

How are the conditions looking for the contest?

The beaches near White Crest are shaping up well this year. Obviously we can't forecast the waves a month out but, skim on the cape this year has been pretty fun, with skimmable slope at all tides. This year there weren't really big noreasters late in the season to erode the beaches so hopefully we will have the waves to pull through for us this year.

the beaches where the contest sight will be are looking very favorable right now, only problem is the persistent layer of rocks that pops up randomly. the level of fun/sick setups are endless and should be epic but i wouldnt recommend riding your brand new baby of a board right now, we'll see how the sand continues to build before we say much more except

The liner at mcguire landing (aka lecountes) is very very very fun right now its long its strong and its down to get the gnarnia on. so if your in the area get on that shit before it goes AFK

I really don't have any of there contacts. I know some people have McLane's phone number, but I don't. Last year I drove down for a day and distributed a few fliers to skimmers at East and tried to distribute some to places where I think skimmers and beachgoers would see them but I'm not sure how well it worked.

It would be really great if we could get some skimmers from down there to spread the word with fliers or just even talking to others. A bigger effort is needed to bring up some of the skimmers from RI, if they'd like to come. I know we'd love to have them for the contest, because I know there is a lot of respectable talent. Hopefully we can get someone to really help us out in the coming weeks.
