Float and stability

Earlier this day i had a conversation about the whole 5/8" vs 3/4" deal, and how it's everybodies personal pref.

Anyway, i find myself liking 5/8" over 3/4" for the wierdest reason, i feel i'm more stable,
i run pretty fast and when i ride 3/4" it's like it's holding me back!, actually when i rode on my (now sold) 3/4" i would get a sort of "backfire" as soon as i got on...

any more people with this experience?

I compensated the loss of float by choosing a hybrid over a pro model, i think my current new board is perfect for not so super dutch conditions!

the hybrid model actually has less float (less surface area, and a shape that doesn't plane through water as well)

5/8 for sure. i've skimmed both 3/4 and 5/8. if your technique is good enough i would get a 5/8. just run like the wind. A lot more feel and manouvrebility with 5/8.
and go pro model while your at it too :)
