i think that guy is actually a researcher, so while he was undoubtly getting some serious adrenaline, he was expecting a shark encounter.

another thing is that the camera perspective makes the shark look bigger than it is. if you read the caption, the kayak is almost the same size as the shark

length doesn't mean shit tho. you have to take into account the girth and the fact it is a fierce predator. god i love sharks.

that is sa rad, that thing is enormous compared to that guy and his kayak. I'd be pretty scared to b him. Reminds me wen my uncle caught a 17 foot mako, in a 14 foot carolina skiff, had to drag it home

17 foot would be a world record for a mako. i thought the biggest caught was like 11 ft

maybe it wasnt a mako, looked like one, we werent positive. BUt i can definitely say it was 17ft

Wow. Don't sharks usually judge attacks, besides smell, by the shape of something, and that's why surfboards (with surfers on them) get attacked so much. Kayak seems like a bad floatation device there. Then again an inner tube is worse, hope the shark doesnt like donuts. Now with human filling!

I think the water magnifies the shark, more so than the camera angle.

Arent sharks attracted to yellow?

They are attracted to shirtless guys in dumb hats.
