The CF looks a ton hotter in glossy(looks>durability). If its not clear carbon, go with texture.

you should still wax it if you have textured.

Glossy is more stronger than textured i thought ? you are sure?

i prefer glossy.
in my personal experience, there is not a substantial difference between the strength of the textured vs. glossy. plus, the textured is a hassle to put on your pads and stickers.
i would like to hear one of you (non-laguna or sponsored skimmers) explain why a textured top makes a substantial difference in strength...

The way I see it, textured would hold wax better and glossy would hold pads better.

I don't think the difference in strength between glossy and textured boards is really significant enough to be a deciding factor. I think the biggest difference between textured boards and glossy boards is that the gloss coat tends to chip after a while and look like crap, whereas the textured boards tend to look the same (the top at least) throughout the life of the board.
Putting pads on can be a pain but I stil like textured better. They are easier to grab too.

i like textured, it doesn't chip as easy.
i like glossy because it's easier to stick on traction. i don't use wax anymore, and i'd hate to sit there and sand it down to put on all that grip...however i switched from wax b/c it kept melting off too easily, but maybe textured would prevent that?

as I have said over 100 times, it makes a substantial increase in durability, and a small increase in strength.
I cant tell you why with out telling you too much.

Uncle Aaron's special sauce makes it textured when mixed with resin. It's the reason there's a girls thread in Off topic.

ahhhhhhhh..... that's where I always got it twisted. Everyone used the word strength. And I never saw how it could make that much difference. Durability, on the other hand, I can definitely agree with.
My Exile that is textured has not chipped. My Exile that is glossy is all chipped up. Even though I ride my glossy wayy more, I see how textured is more durable.
I'm clear now :o <3 Noah

it is a little stronger too. But not "a lot". 5-10% something like that...
the gloss durability on 2007 boards and later is significantly improved as well. but still not matching textured...

I do wax it, but for glossy. the wax will come off so easy in a warm sunny day.

this is quite interesting i thought most people would vote for glossy..
but yeah textured ftw, obviously
I have glossy right now, and my previous board was textured. I find it really slick in my hands when I am running for a wave. I have to wipe down my hand to keep it from slipping. My next board will be textured.
